Although we went to high school just 45 minutes away from each other, we didn’t meet until we were in college.

We met through mutual friends while we both attended SMSU in Marshall. I was studying with my friends in a study room in Sweetland Hall when Corey came in and talked to his friend. I could feel Corey staring at me and was annoyed by this. Fortunately, over time, Corey became less annoying ;) and we began talking and it took off from there.

After so many years of dating, Corey finally popped the question on December 23, 2022. This a day that we won’t ever forget, especially for Corey. The day Corey chose to pop the question turned out to be one of the coldest days of that winter, Corey’s car wouldn’t start, and it was blizzarding. Corey had to recruit my family to get me out of the house. When I came back from my sister’s, I walked into the most romantic thing Corey has ever done. And so, the wedding planning began!
