Q + A

How do I get to Dax, France?

Dax is located in the southwest region of France. If you're coming from the United States or abroad, you have two options! 1- The easiest for those unused to traveling abroad: Fly into Bordeaux International Airport. From here it is a 1 hour 45 min drive to Dax, rent a car or hire a driver in advance. 2-If you are comfortable traveling in foreign countries on your own: Fly into Paris and take a OUI.SNCF train from Gare Montparnasse in Paris to Dax (approximately 3.5- 4 hours by train). This will require transferring from the airport to the train station, most likely by taxi or public transport (count at least 2 hours for the transfer in case of traffic).

Where should I book a hotel and when?

If you are coming from the United States, contact Sarah, We most likely have already made arrangements for you! Otherwise, check out airbnbs and gites closest to Larrade. There are also plenty of hotels in Dax and the smaller towns around Larrade. Check out the Travel section for more details. Book as soon as possible! The region is beautiful and we know there will be many weddings nearby at the same time. If you have any questions or hesitations, text Sarah or Antoine. We are here to help :)

Will there be a taxi service to help me get back from the wedding?

Yes! We want our wedding guests to come, drink and be merry! Therefore we will ensure you get home safely at the crack of dawn. We will have one or two taxi cars on site to drive you back to your hotel or airbnb.

Will there be a brunch on Sunday?

Yes! In France, there is traditionally a brunch the day after the wedding where everyone wears over-sized sunglasses and pretends they are not hung-over. We will have a brunch pool party, so don't forget your swim suits!

What is the dress code?

It is important to know that Dax in summer can be very hot! The dress code requires cocktail attire, but make sure you are ready for warm weather. Fun wedding hats are encouraged! I do not recommend stiletto heels since part of the day will be spent in the garden (wedges or thick heeled shoes should be fine). If you are attending the brunch on Sunday, bring a swimsuit for a dip in the pool!

I have kids! What do I do with them?

Let us know in advance, and we can have baby-sitters to help entertain your little ones!
