A Meet-Cute Turned Photo Booth Promise

Sarah and Matthew met in a place better known for shopping than soulmates: the mall. Sarah was working at Aveda, and Matthew—entirely unaware he was part of a future love story—was driving an armored car and picking up the store’s cash each week. Sarah thought he was so cute and made a few attempts at flirting, all of which went completely over Matthew’s head. Eventually, Sarah took matters into her own hands, tracked him down on Facebook, and slid into his DMs—successfully. Their first date was at The Burl Arcade, though it almost didn’t happen. Matthew was twenty minutes late, and Sarah was just about to leave when she had a feeling she should stay. As it turns out, Matthew had been stuck in line buying a new pair of shoes for the date—something Sarah could immediately appreciate. That night, things felt easy from the start. They shared their first kiss in the photo booth, unknowingly setting the stage for a moment that would come full circle years later. As their relationship grew, so did their partnership—shaped by showing up for one another, supporting each other’s ambitions, and building a life side by side. Sarah admires Matthew’s steadiness, his loyalty, and his quiet strength. Matthew loves Sarah’s creativity, her warmth, and the way she brings beauty into everything she touches. Together, they balance each other—equal parts grounding and spark. Almost exactly two years later, Matthew brought Sarah back to that same photo booth at The Burl Arcade and proposed in front of their closest friends and family, surrounded by flowers and candlelight. While the moment was magical, Sarah wasn’t exactly surprised—she knew everything he had planned (some things never change). Today, Sarah and Matthew are most excited about the life they’re building together: traveling, continuing to make their house a true home, and enjoying long nights with their cultivated group of friends. Their story isn’t about grand surprises—it’s about choosing each other every day, with intention, humor, and a lot of love. What started as a mall meet-cute—assisted by a Facebook DM and a very important pair of shoes—became a photo booth promise and a lifetime of memories and happiness.

Gentlemen are encouraged to wear a black tuxedo or dark formal suit and tie. Ladies, a floor-length evening gown. Pastel hues and floral-inspired prints are warmly welcomed in celebration of the first day of spring.

Shuttle service will be provided to and from these hotels for both the welcome party and the wedding.
