Jon and Sarah met through their friends that they both made from work, shout out to Brittany Leedy & Alex Leedy (Members of our bridal party, of course! We wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for them)! During the COVID-19 pandemic, they formed a small bubble of friends and during this time Jon and Sarah met (August 2020). They started off as just mutually hanging out, but fast forward to March 2021, Sarah was running a fundraiser with the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties and needed only $25 more to reach her goal. Who else but Jon stepped in to give her that last bit of money (and did so by getting her number to have her text him the link to the fundraiser).

Fast forward two weeks later, and they finally go on there first official date: a walk around Lake Lynn followed by dinner at Lynwood Brewing Concern, two calzones were had!

Jon was forced to become the father of Sarah's two cats, Tango and Gatsby (He likes one of them more than the other) and in the summer of 2022, adopted a beagle named Steve.

In July of 2023, Jon went with his family on their annual trip to Cape Cod, Massachusetts for the Fourth of July. However, Sarah couldn't make it because she had to attend a conference for work in Hamburg, Germany and the two were separated for two weeks. When Sarah returned from her trip to Germany, her dad picked her up from the airport and drove her back to her parent's house in Statesville, NC where Jon (with the help of Sarah's parents) was waiting on the back porch of their house with candles & roses. The rest, as you can guess, is history!
