Jason and Sarah did not meet (officially) until March 20, 2021 when they had their first date. After meeting online, Jason and Sarah discovered that they likely had been in the same places many times before. As both swam in high school for neighboring schools, there were many swim meets throughout their four years of high school that they were both competing against each other. Jason was surprised when Sarah indicated she was visiting her sister in Jackson, Michigan where his grandparents and some extended family still resided.
Throughout the last three years, Jason and Sarah have enjoyed taking trips to Cleveland, Ohio, Frankenmuth, Michigan, Washington, D.C., Lexington, Kentucky, Silver Lake, Michigan, and Gatlinburg, Tennessee, with many trips to visit family occurring as well. They love getting to see both the beauty of nature and experience city life.
Jason and Sarah enjoy getting to spend time together and support one another in their work and personal goals. Jason has loved and supported Sarah through the grief of her mother’s passing on December 28, 2023 from metastatic breast cancer.
Sarah has been a supportive presence at Jason swim meets while keeping her hands busy crocheting and cheering on his team.
Jason proposed to Sarah July 5, 2024 at Hudson and Essex is Mansfield, Ohio. After a delicious meal, the manager took the couple on a tour of the “caverns” that were discovered when the restaurant was being built in 2018. While the manager took pictures, Jason knelt and popped the question, presenting Sarah with a family ring. Sarah gladly accepted.
Jason and Sarah are excited to wed in Galion, Ohio on October 12, 2024 and start the next chapter of their lives.
