Our Wedding

Growing up in the small town of Montague, and going to high school together, It took a while for Sarah and I to cross paths. We went to high school together for a year and knew of each other, but didn’t know each other personally until the year after that. In the early months of 2019, we were introduced to each other by mutual friends. Sarah was a Freshman playing soccer at Muskegon Community and I was still in high school at Montague. Our first date was in the spring of 2019 after a few months of texting and seeing each other a few times. We went to Stony Lake Inn for dinner and went to get Arby’s shakes for dessert. When we got to Arby’s, Sarah realized she left her keys at Stony Lake Inn! For those of you that don’t know these locations in the Montague and Whitehall area, it’s not a close drive. Despite the imperfect first date, we loved each other’s company and had a mutual respect for each other’s christian faith. Since that day, our story has been about sticking together while we each go through changes in our lives. Sarah went from MCC, to Ferris State, to graduating and getting a full time job. I, on the other hand, decided to go from Montague to Michigan Tech for college. These different stages in life made our distance apart go from 5 minutes, to 30 minutes, to an hour and 15 minutes, to 8 hours! Our distance apart kept growing and growing as we got older. Through these big changes in our lives, our love for each other never waivered. We always made these life decisions knowing we would find a way to stick together. When each of us went away to college, it forced us to make sacrifices for each other in order to see each other. This is especially true for Sarah who has driven thousands of miles to Michigan Tech so that we can spend time together. She has supported me in my passion of playing football while it gives me a very busy schedule. Making it through a long distance relationship for this long, we feel like we can conquer anything together. To sum it up, our story is about us getting further and further away from each other in distance, but growing closer and closer together in our relationship. Knowing that we wanted to be together forever, I finally popped the question on May 4th, 2024. Sarah of course said yes, and we can’t wait for you to enjoy our wedding day with us on May 10, 2025!
