We met back in 2010 when we started at Regina Mundi Catholic College in High School. Matt, being a year older, was in grade 10 at the time but we ended up meeting through our shared interest in hockey.. Matt was on the junior boys hockey team for RMC, and Sarah was on the junior girls team. That often meant practicing and playing games at the same arena where we would occasionally run into each other - as well as in the halls of RMC.

We had a complicated relationship throughout high school, with a couple of brief relationships that always ended in us being just friends.

Fast forward a couple of years where we both went off to University in different cities, where we had mostly lost touch aside from the occasional catch up conversation.

After Sarah returned home from University we had connected again and met for coffee. We connected so quickly and so well just as we always had before, and we continued to see each other. We quickly got to know each other all over again and decided to give the relationship another try now that we were much older and also different than we were in high school..

In 2019 we moved out to Muskoka together to supervise a couple of restaurants at a golf course together. Our first time living together, albeit with some roommates, and we didn't kill each other!

When we finished the season in Muskoka, we came home to London to get our first apartment together, and our first fur baby Schmidt! Schmidt became a huge part of our lives and has really taught us both a lot - and still we remained together. Eventually, we added our second fur baby Stark to the family and we couldn't have been happier together.

In October 2021 we made the big move to Cochrane, AB with our two boys so that we could work in Calgary and be oh so close to the mountains! It has been an amazing experience living our here and we have had so much fun. We bought our first house together and have been working at making it our home.

In May of 2022 we got engaged in the most beautiful spot in Jasper, with our two boys by our sides!! We have finally made it to this point in our lives together and are finally getting married on June 27th, 2023.
