We met each other in July 2020 and quickly learned that we had so much in common! From small things like having the same favorite movies, to big things like both having hearts for adoption, it didn’t take long to realize that there was definitely a connection happening. We would spend hours on the phone talking about anything and everything, and formed a solid foundation of friendship before we even went on an official first date.
Unlike most new couples, our first year together was filled with unimaginable loss. They say the two worst things that could ever happen in life is losing a child and losing your mother, we went through both of those losses together before even hitting the one year anniversary of our first date. You truly learn who someone is when you walk with them through their darkest moments, and when most people might walk away from something that hard when a relationship is brand new, we both dug our heels in and supported each other. We were best friends first, and everything else has built off of that.
Now, years later, after big moves and big renovations and the blending of a really big family, we are finally at a sort of finishing line, and starting line at the same time. We are so excited to celebrate with everyone the end of the journey towards becoming one family, and the beginning of what we know will be a beautiful life together.
