Although we officially got to know each other at Sambica, we technically first met at a Hillsong United concert (Sarahs all time favorite band) while in line for a T-shirt in 2019. Our moms chatted and we shyly said hello.

Colby came to work at SAMBICA a few years later as the videographer. Sarah was a camp counselor, as she had been for many summers prior! We had our first conversation at a pre-summer gathering for Sambica staff members. We both went into the event with each other on our minds, since our parents had separately encouraged us to: "meet the Brickwell's son" and "say hello to the Wimmer's daughter". Colby's mom used to work for Sarah's dad, so we had that connection! We stuck by each other's side throughout the whole gathering, talking about anything we could think of to keep the conversation going!

We spent the next months of the summer doing everything together, we were inseparable! (This photo is from a trip to Whidbey Island with Sarah's family). We were just friends until we confessed our crushes at the Sambica waterfront (on the wibbit, of course) on July 18th.

We shared God's love with the campers and were able to encourage each other daily! We definitely laughed the hardest we've ever laughed in our lives that summer. We made our relationship official in August (August 1st) and every day since has been better and better!

Long distance began in September as Colby headed to his new home in Redmond, Oregon (right by Bend) and Sarah moved back to her college dorm. We facetimed multiple times a week, sent letters and counted down the days until our first visit in Oregon after being apart. The times between visits were so hard!

The visits continued! We would see each other about once a month from 2021-2023. We'd take turns flying from Washington to Oregon and staying with each other's families.

Visit after visit after visit... we really racked up the Alaska Airlines miles buying flights between Washington and Oregon! The memories are all so special. Visits to Oregon meant eating at yummy restaurants with the Brickwell Family and playing Jackbox.Tv (The Brickwells are SO fun!). Visits to Washington included time with the Wimmer family (also SO fun) and cozy time in the rainy weather.

More visits! Here we celebrated our second year of dating with a fancy dinner at Ray's boat house in Seattle! We have great photos from every visit... but this would be way too long if we added them all!

Colby moved to Washington in September of 2023 to be closer to Sarah and pursue his awesome film career! He lived in the 17th Ave House, which was a BLAST and helped build our community back in WA. In this photo we are headed to our Spring Formal! Being in the same state has felt like a dream come true!

On Sarah's Birthday, Colby had the biggest surprise planned, and Sarah said "YES"! The Lord was so present in this moment, he even sent two eagles to fly over us (which have been incredibly symbolic throughout our relationship!).

Being engaged has been the best season of life thus far. We are so excited for marriage, and it has been amazing to see the Lord's provision and guidance as the day gets closer!
