Jeff and Saraya were in the background of each others' lives long before they officially met and started dating. Patrick F. Taylor Academy is a school that caters to grades 6-12. Jeff began attending in 2007 (his 7th grade year, and Saraya in 2008 (her 6th grade year). The school, at least back then, was so tiny that you never saw a face you didn't recognize, even if you didn't know the person. For the entirety of their time at Patrick Taylor, though they may have known each others' names, Saraya and Jeff never really interacted. He was two grades older, played basketball, and ran cross country. She was in art and music and ate lunch in the library. His band played in the talent show, she sang solo (and won). Both, at the end of their high school careers, decided to attend LSU for college. Despite the massive campus and even more massive student population, they saw each other everywhere. Neither said a word to the other since they'd never really spoken before, but still they recognized each other walking to class, in the dining hall, crossing through the quad.... Then in October of 2016, at a dog event on the LSU parade grounds, Saraya felt someone walk up behind her. She turned around and there he was. They said an awkward hello, chatted for a while, and exchanged numbers. The very next day, Jeff texted Saraya and invited her out for lunch. They started hanging out, became friends, and over time that friendship evolved into something more. They've barely been apart for longer than a week in the seven years since then. Now, so much time later, they're ready to begin the next chapter of their lives together.
