Carl and Sari met in early October of 2017 while they both were sophomores at the University of Georgia. They first met when the two were invited on a weekend climbing trip by a mutual friend, and neither knew the other would be attending. Famously, when Sari went to pick up their mutual friend to head to the mountains and he told her they had to go pick up Carl first, Sari responded, "who the f*** is Carl?" By the end of that first weekend, Sari was brave enough to ask Carl for his number.

Sari and Carl began spending lots of time together soon after that first weekend camping and climbing together, and they quickly fell in love. By November of 2017, they made things official.

Carl and Sari remained joined at the hip throughout the rest of their time at UGA, supporting each other through major life changes such as summers of long-distance while Carl worked in Colorado, semesters of back-and-forth between Athens and Atlanta while Sari worked at her co-op, and navigating the challenges of living separately during the Coronavirus pandemic. They added a third member to the family, beloved bully mix Tulip, in September of 2020. In May of 2021, the three moved into their first apartment together in Atlanta.

After a year of living together in Atlanta, Carl and Sari knew that something was still missing and they were ready for a change. After reconnecting with college friends who had moved to Fort Collins at Sweetwater 420 Fest music festival in 2022, the two decided to fulfill their teenage dreams together and move to Fort Collins, Colorado. There, they have been building a joyful and loving life together filled with skiing, camping, live music, and amazing friendships.

Carl proposed to Sari while they were skiing together at Mary Jane in January of 2024. The two are thrilled to be joining their lives together in such a meaningful way in September, and they are so excited for you to join them in celebration of their love.
