Our Wedding

Sariah’s and Jalen’s journey began in the fall of 2017 at Murphy High School. They officially first met in Ms. Naylor’s 9th grade science class. Sariah asked for his name and Jalen asked for her SnapChat. Little did they know, that this small moment would spark something beautiful. They navigated through the ups and downs of high school together—breakups, situation-ships, and everything in-between. It wasn’t always easy, but we made it through, not knowing what the future would hold for our college career. By the grace of God, they both ended up at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). It was here, surrounded by a community that strengthened our walk with God, that their relationship deepened. They grew together—praying, worshiping, and supporting each other, knowing that it was not in their own strength but in God’s that kept them together. Ironically at first Jalen didn’t even officially ask her out but seven and a half years after that first meeting, on a chilly Saturday night in Chattanooga, TN, he got down on one knee and this time it was official. He asked her, “Will you marry me?” The rest of our story is still being written, and only God knows what’s next, but we’re excited to continue this journey together—hand in hand, with faith, love, and gratitude.
