Welcome to the travel page for our wedding at Castle Ladyhawke, nestled in the enchanting mountains of North Carolina! While the grandeur of our celebration takes place at the castle, we've arranged accommodations for our guests at Bear Lake Reserve, just a short distance away.

From Atlanta (ATL) - Approx. 3 hours

Atlanta is just a scenic 3-hour drive away from Castle Ladyhawke and Bear Lake Reserve. Take the I-85 N and enjoy the picturesque journey as you head towards the tranquility of the mountains.

From Charlotte (CLT) - Approx. 3 hours

Charlotte is also a mere 3-hour drive from Castle Ladyhawke and Bear Lake Reserve. Hop on the I-85 S and then merge onto the I-26 W towards Asheville to embark on your journey to our wedding destination.

From Asheville Airport (AVL) - Approx. 1 hour

For those flying into Asheville, the closest airport to Castle Ladyhawke and Bear Lake Reserve, you're just an hour away from joining us for our special day. Upon arrival, simply rent a car and take the scenic drive west on the I-40 W and then onto the US-74 W, reveling in the breathtaking views along the way.

To make the most of your visit and explore the charming towns and scenic beauty of the region, we recommend renting a car from any of the airports mentioned above. Having your own transportation will also provide you with the flexibility to travel between Bear Lake Reserve and Castle Ladyhawke at your convenience if you prefer to not take the shuttle. Valet parking is available at the castle.

We have established a wedding block on specific homes at Bear Lake Reserve. All guests booking homes for our wedding will receive a 10% wedding discount. This discount applies to the room block, as well as any other cabin available at Bear Lake Reserve. The minimum night stay is 2 nights.

For the convenience of our guests staying at Bear Lake Reserve, we're delighted to offer complimentary shuttle service to and from Castle Ladyhawke.

The Orchard's and McGrath's have reached out to all attendees to confirm if they will be driving or taking the shuttle. Please let them know if your plans change as the shuttle schedule needs to be adjusted.

Shuttle Schedule

Departure from Bear Lake Reserve: The shuttle company is putting together a custom schedule for our guests which will be released about 1 week prior to the event. Most pick ups will occur at each cabin. Some cabins might require you to walk 1-2 minutes to the main street if the shuttle does not have space to turn around. Please expect the shuttle to pick you up approximately one hour before the start of the wedding ceremony at Castle Ladyhawke.

Return to Bear Lake Reserve: After the celebration concludes, the shuttle will depart from Castle Ladyhawke to return to Bear Lake Reserve. Each shuttle will have their designated stops posted in the window.

For those driving to the castle, there is a free valet service. Please drive up to the front of the castle and a valet will be there waiting for you.
