We are in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, so the weather can be unpredictable. We recommend dressing in layers. If you are walking a lot, we recommend bringing a raincoat and some water-resistant shoes.

We recommend booking a car as soon as possible, as the prices may increase closer to the dates you need them and a limited number of vehicles may be available. If you can avoid picking your vehicle up at the airport, that could save you a lot in cost. Here are some recommended places: Enterprise, National, Alamo, Budget, Hertz, Thrifty, and Avis. Be sure to do a visual inspection of the car before you drive it off the lot. Specifically, check for dents on the roof and rocker panels to avoid being blamed for damage that someone else did. Rocker panel and tire/rim damage are the most expensive and common types of damages to rental cars in Newfoundland.
