Carlos and Sasha’s story started about eight years ago in a Facebook group for adults with disabilities. They talked here and there but eventually lost.In 2024, they found their way back to each other. What started as catching up quickly turned into long conversations, lots of laughs, and something that felt different this time. Before long, they realized they were falling for each other. They met in person for the first time on Easter in 2025, when Carlos came from New York to Philadelphia to go to Easter service with Sasha at the Met. Afterward, they had their first date at Maggie’s Waterfront Café, which is still a special memory for both of them. After that, Carlos made many trips back and forth to Philly so they could spend more time together, growing closer with each visit. Later that year, Sasha celebrated her 30th birthday in New York, where both of their families met for the first time. During the trip, Carlos surprised Sasha with a promise ring, making it even more unforgettable. That summer, their relationship kept growing. On the Fourth of July, Carlos and his family came to Philadelphia for a BBQ at Sasha’s house. Surrounded by family, Carlos proposed, turning the day into one they’ll always remember.Later that year, they continued sharing special moments with each other’s families—Sasha spent Thanksgiving in New York with Carlos’ family, and Carlos spent Christmas in Philadelphia with Sasha’s family. On February 3, 2026, Carlos and Sasha got married at City Hall with their closest loved ones by their side. Their relationship is built on love, understanding, and supporting each other through everything. Both living with spina bifida and using wheelchairs, they’ve found not just love, but a true partnership. Now, we are beyond excited to celebrate our love officially with all of you this summer. We cannot wait to gather our family and friends and share this joy together. With love, Sasha & Carlos
