In December 2022, under the neon glow and noisy chatter in Kelly's Irish Times on Capitol Hill, Satya and Ryan’s paths crossed during a Fox News Happy Hour. Satya was there to celebrate a dear friend’s last day at Fox, while Ryan, honoring tradition, joined after a long day on Special Report. As the evening unfolded, the two found themselves side by side at the bar, where an initial silence lingered before Ryan introduced himself. What followed was an entire night of conversation where they talked about everything from Yellowstone to their shared passion for music, along with the usual D.C. small talk that seemed to weave their interests together. As the night drew to a close, Satya had to take her leave, but not before Ryan mustered the courage to ask for her number. The rest is history...

How They Met 

It was the coldest day D.C. had seen in ages when Satya and Ryan headed to the city’s Christmas market. That morning, Ryan suggested a trip to the mall for earmuffs, gloves, and other winter essentials—oddly focused on looking good, Satya thought, but she went along with it. That evening, they arrived at the wrong market (Dupont instead of Downtown) but decided to explore anyway. They grabbed mini donuts and hot chocolate, though the cold soon became unbearable for Satya. Just as she insisted they leave, Ryan pulled her into an alpaca shop to stall, pointing out every item on the wall. Eventually, they made their way back to the car, but Ryan asked for a quick stop at the Capitol Christmas tree to take a photo for his grandpa. When they arrived, Satya noticed Ryan never took a photo—then realized something was happening. After a heartfelt speech, Ryan got down on one knee and proposed. Who would’ve thought a night at the bar two years ago would lead to a Hallmark-worthy love story? It truly was the magic of the Christmas season!

Shuttle Times 

For those staying in our designated hotel room blocks, (The Dupont Circle Hotel, The Royal Sonesta, and The Ven at Embassy Row), there will be a shuttle available to pick you up and transport you to both the Ceremony and Reception.&nbsp; For guests who may not be staying in these blocks, or who live locally, we recommend utilizing a rideshare service such as Uber, Lyft, or taking the metro as the most convenient method to arrive at the Perry Belmont House. The closest metro stop is, Dupont Circle, which operates the red line. Bus Schedule:&nbsp;1:00pm -&nbsp;Pickup Royal Sonesta&nbsp;1:15pm -&nbsp;Pickup Dupont Circle Hotel&nbsp;1:30pm -&nbsp;Pickup The Ven at Embassy Row&nbsp;2:00pm - Drop Off at Cathedral of Saint Matthew the Apostle * Buses will bring guests to the Perry Belmont House at the conclusion of the ceremony at St. Matthew's. * Please plan to arrange your own transportation at the end of the night. Buses will not be available to transport you back to the hotel as we understand guests may choose to leave at different times during the night. We recommend utilizing a rideshare service.
