Our story began in 2015 when we were both part of the same musical. We were "married" for the production, and rumor has it we both liked each other but were too scared to say anything (psst- the rumors are true!) After the final showing, we lost touch until 2018.

When I (Savannah) graduated High School, I (briefly) moved to Utah. My first visit home was in November, and we finally got to see each other. Every time I visited home, we spent as many days as possible together. By January, he asked if I would consider long distance, but I told him to wait until April when I moved home.

We dated for a few months, but it was clear that we both had struggles that we had to deal with before we could give each other what we deserved. The breakup hurt each of us so much, but we truly grew from it. We spent almost a year apart, focusing on our own health and goals. When we finally got back together in June of 2020, it was clear that the time we spent apart gave us a chance to mature and become the best we could be for each other.

Flash forward to now, Blake had a ring in a box (sitting in plain site) for almost six months. He didn't know what he was waiting for, but when we suddenly got snow and he saw the excitement I had after being away from snow for years, he knew it was the right time to propose. I said I would "marry that boy" when I was 14, and it's so incredible (and funny) to look back as a 20 year-old and know that I was right.

Blake and I have brought out the best in each other. I've helped him better understand his own emotions and the emotions of others. He's helped me learn to communicate my feelings and how to stand up for myself. Somehow, we've both taught each other how to be more responsible in every way. We love and appreciate everyone who has supported us so far, from helping us move, to supporting us when times were hard, to including both of us in family events and vacations. We're so excited to merge our big and incredible families into one, and we're so blessed to have everyone along for the ride.

(To Blake's family, I apologize if y'all were unaware that he used to sneak out to see me. I promise we were just wasting money on Waffle House and shopping lol.)
