A Cute Sappy Story

Our story began way back before we even knew. Around middle school but not even sure where we met. I do just remember him always being around. By senior year, we were best friends. We found each other in the same group regardless of which “group” that was. We stayed that way through that whole summer of 2016, through college and post grad. We had way too much fun and still talk about of these times often. Had a *tiny* crush here but I had no idea!

The summer of 2022 changed everything. It was an insanely hard summer for my family with my mom being sick. Will was the same guy he always was but it was different. I had some of the lowest moments and at the same time, so much was coming together. He showed up for me in a way that I cannot even describe that year and is still doing the same to this day. What had always felt easy and familiar suddenly felt like more. He was steady and patient with me. We spent that summer together and started dating on Labor Day weekend. He was exactly who I always prayed for. Thank you Jesus for Will Allen!

Then came our son, Lawson. Becoming parents was a shock but shifted everything for us in the best possible way. He made these kids grow up real quick! He’s our greatest joy and the reason we love each other on an entirely new level. Watching each other grow into this chapter of parenthood has been the best part of it all!

We’re still best friends first. We balance each other out: I bring the chaos, he brings the calm. I lose things, he finds them. I make a mess, he comes behind me and cleans it. He makes me laugh so hard that my stomach hurts. And now, we’re getting married—high school us is freaking out! How lucky are we to go through so many phases of life together. I cannot wait for this next one as Mr. & Mrs. Allen!

"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. If either of them falls, one can help the other up. But woe to anyone who falls and has no one to help them up." -Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
