Savannah and Kyle found themselves at Southern Methodist University for both academics and athletics. However, it wasn't until October of 2020 that they crossed paths at their favorite college bar, Barley House. After graduating, their relationship blossomed as they shared a passion for SMU football games, country music concerts, and movies (with Kyle favoring classic westerns and Savannah enjoying sappy romances, but both equally geeking out over LotR).

Through job changes, relocations, road trips, countless pitchers of Miller Lite, driveway basketball games, and everything in between, their love deepened beyond expectation. On May 25, 2024, Kyle surprised Savannah with a proposal during what she thought was a high tea outing (although an unusual choice for him). At a stunning viewpoint in the Dallas Arboretum, Kyle dropped to one knee and asked Savannah to marry him. She joyously accepted, and the rest is history!
