Savannah and Matthew’s story began in the summer of 2020, on a warm and quiet evening at Cordry Lake in Nineveh, Indiana. Their introduction through mutual connects, was simple, yet meaningful — the kind of beginning that would one day become the foundation of a lifetime together.

Although, that is not exactly how the story begins. While both had heard many things about one another, there is of course excitement mixed with nervousness. Savannah, known to be shy and observant when meeting someone new, was no different that night. Matthew, with his easy smile and warm presence, quickly captured her attention. What started with a playful dare — Savannah’s challenge for Matthew to jump into the lake. While impressed he took her dare, she remained quiet the rest of the evening. Matthew making many attempts to capture her attention. Later, after Savannah had left she received a text with Matthew’s phone number. She began to text him which kickstarted the spark that drew them together.

In the days that followed, Savannah and Matthew discovered that what they shared was more than chance. Savannah, careful with her trust and her heart, soon realized that Matthew was worth giving both to. And Matthew, though just 18 at the time, was determined to show Savannah, then 21, that their love could grow beyond the ordinary.

Their connection deepened quickly. Savannah cherished celebrating each little milestone along the way, while Matthew held a vision of their future — the bigger picture, the lasting moments that would define their life together. It was this balance, Savannah’s appreciation for the present and Matthew’s steadfast belief in what was ahead, that gave their relationship its strength.

In November of that same year, Savannah followed her heart once more when she brought home a tiny white kitten who would become part of their story. Though Matthew initially resisted the idea, it wasn’t long before Smokey had him wrapped around his paw. From that moment forward, Savannah and Matthew were building more than just a relationship — they were building a family.

Over the years, they continued to choose each other, time and time again. Through every season of life — whether buying cars, caring for their pets, or searching for a place to call home — they placed one another’s needs, hopes, and dreams first.

Together, Savannah and Matthew have surpassed every expectation and proven that true love is not measured by age or circumstance, but by commitment, patience, and the daily choice to walk through life hand in hand.
