Savannah and Matt’s adventure kicked off in Chicago via Hinge. After a few weeks of chatting, they met for their first date at Big Star on Clark Street, a local Mexican hotspot. Little did they know, this spot would later inspire the name of their first puppy, Clark—because clearly, naming a dog after a street is totally normal.

On that first date, Savannah talked Matt's ear off for hours. Despite the chatter, or maybe because of it, they hit it off instantly and were eager to see each other again.

Their second date was just as memorable, with Matt planning a romantic evening by the lake with wine and empanadas. When Savannah asked about his favorite wine, Matt jokingly mentioned Franzia, known for its 5L box. Not catching on to the sarcasm and eager to impress, Savannah showed up with a full 10-pound box of Franzia. Matt was so touched by her effort and genuine spirit (and gullibility) that he instantly fell for her.
