The Reception

The reception will be held at Belforest Pointe in Daphne, AL. It is located approximately 18 minutes from the ceremony.Address: 26503 AL-181, Daphne, AL 36526Parking: Please park in the main grass parking lot.Time: Cocktail hour will begin at 4:30 directly following the ceremony. The reception and dinner will be at 5:30.

Sam and I started off as friends, and our journey together began in an unexpected but beautifully memorable way. The first time I met Sam was the night before our trip to Washington D.C. for the March for Life. I was panicking because our deposit on the bus hadn't gone through, and if it didn't arrive by early morning, our trip would be canceled. Sam, along with the other officers, came over to my house that night to pray. Miraculously, the deposit arrived the next day, and the bus picked us up for our trip. Little did I know that this trip would be the beginning of something truly special. Throughout the trip, Sam was always by my side, tagging along with me and my friends. He treated me differently than the other girls, which immediately caught my attention. I suspected he might like me, although he swears he didn't have romantic feelings at that time. By the end of that trip, we had become good friends and even created a group chat with a mutual friend. Over the next few months, I watched Sam change and grow. He rededicated his life to the Lord and was baptized at a local church in Auburn. I was going through changes as well, especially after the passing of my grandmother that summer. Her passing deeply affected me and my family, and it felt like the Lord was gently guiding me toward the next stage of my life. Sam and I kept in touch over the summer, and once school started in the fall, we saw each other at SFL events again. It became very clear to me that he liked me. He was incredibly kind to me, would text me, and often flirt when we were together. Since Sam didn't have a car in Auburn, I would drive him to various events and he would ask to be dropped off last. We spent countless nights talking about our lives and dreams. My parents began to hear more about him and couldn't understand how I could talk to a "friend" for hours on end. Several specific events stand out in my memory, like the Women's Hope Gala and Sam's birthday dinner, where our feelings for each other were unmistakable. One night, I invited him to the Southern Gospel night at Lakeview, not expecting him to come because I couldn't drive him. However, he ordered an uber and he showed up and sat in the front row, right in my line of vision. He watched me the whole service, and I remember blushing the entire time. From that moment on, I knew he was serious about his feelings for me. Shortly after that night, he texted me to ask me out. If you know me, you know I prefer calling, so I was a bit upset. But Sam knew what he was doing. He understood that I hadn't fully processed my feelings yet. At that point, I told him, I thought we were just friends.It took me about two weeks to come to terms with my feelings. I prayed about our relationship and where it could lead. Then I called Sam and said we needed to talk. We planned to meet on Friday, September 16. I remember picking him up; he was wearing a suit and smelled of nice cologne. We went to Well Red to chat and he paid for my coffee as we began with small talk. Eventually, I asked why we were there, and he turned the question back to me. I asked why he asked me out and why over text. For the next hour, he poured his heart out, explaining why he thought we should be together. His words were so heartfelt and romantic. By this point, we knew so much about each other from our nine-month friendship. I knew that if we started dating, it would be something serious and beautiful. I listened to him, and we started dating the following Tuesday. After three months of dating, I knew Samuel was the man I would marry. We've spent two years together since our first date that September. Each holiday, and anniversary together has been a joy and blessing. When Samuel asked me to marry him, it was the easiest and happiest 'yes' I've ever uttered. I can not wait to to be married to the kindest, most thoughtful, classy, God fearing man I know.

Her Perspective:

Savannah is a woman I hold a great deal of respect for. One of the first things I noticed about her in Washington was that she loved her family. Initially, Savannah was a friend who I enjoyed being around. She was not someone I saw particularly often, but someone who I thought about frequently. She was special and different. I remember talking with her quite a bit, and Savannah swiping up on most of my stories when I was interning on Capitol Hill. I believe Savannah and I have always shared a special connection, even if I never would have suspected it at the time. At some point after coming back in Fall 2022, I began to think about her differently. I remember sitting at the gala and looking at her thinking “Wow this woman beside me is actually gorgeous.” It almost startled me because I was sitting there just staring at her, and it was the first time I had looked at her and found her attractive in that way. Why wouldnt I ask her out? Savannah was and is everything I could ask for in a woman, and then some. In addition to that, I just genuinely really enjoyed being around her. When I approached Savannah about a date, she required a little convincing. After a little phone-tag, and drawn out pauses, she asked to get coffee. At coffee, I asked her one simple question. Why not? Why not go on a date? As friends we could talk for hours. We knew so much about each other and what we wanted in the future. We had fun, and enjoyed each others company. Why not go for a date and try it? Looking back, I think it helped that I happened to be wearing a suit for an interview later that day. However, Savannah was in. Since then, we have both grown exponentially. Savannah is a beautiful woman who loves Christ, and everything I could ask for in a wife. She is lovely, brilliant, classy, elegant, mature, driven and thoughtful. Savannah has been by my side for the last two years, and has been an incredible blessing. Being able to grow together the last two years continues to be an incredible privilege. Every single day since we started dating, I think I cannot love being with her more, and every single day I am proven wrong
