Alex and Savannah hit it off on Facebook in April of 2022. After chatting for a few weeks, they decided to finally meet face to face at Park Ave. Billiards. Of course there had to be a twist — Savannah found a nail in her tire, so their first date would have to wait…

After the tire fiasco, they decided they would try again in 2 weeks. They chose a Spanish dancing bar outside downtown Jacksonville. Savannah ended up accidentally elbowing the Salsa instructor in the face at this event, if this tells you anything about her. Alex was smitten, and eventually the pair ended up at Jacksonville Beach. The couple talked about everything under the moon (literally). Savannah had never felt more comfortable with someone, and Alex felt the same.

Alex kept Savannah’s ring hidden in his truck for a month, which was quite the feat keeping this precious secret. Alex knew Savannah’s favorite Christmas tradition was going to Night of Lights in historic Saint Augustine. On 11/19/2022, Savannah, Alex and some of their closest friends drove down to enjoy the night. After grabbing hot chocolate, they made their way over to the main attraction: the huge Christmas tree decked out in lights. It was truly a sight to see. As the couple took their pictures, the photo session ended in a heartfelt moment. Alex found himself on one knee, asking Savannah the most important question he would ever ask. Savannah was so surprised she ended up smacking herself in the head and she thinks she blacked out during the exchange. Nonetheless, amidst the blur, she distinctly recalls the joyous moment when she said “YES!”

Following a thorough discussion, Savannah and Alex decided they wanted to start a family. In early October, Savannah received the wonderful news that they were expecting! Several months later, they chose to elope, planning a wedding for the upcoming year to ensure their soon-to-arrive daughter was included. On 2/11/2023, they marked their elopement with a celebration at Don Juan’s, surrounded by loved ones. On 6/6/2023, Emily entered their world and Alex was quickly wrapped around her finger. Emily will be 10 months old on the day the wedding takes place.
