DRESS CODE: WHAT IS BEACH WEDDING CASUAL?
Beach Wedding Casual means dress for a wedding, but keep the temperature and sand in mind. “Sunday Best”, Cocktail dresses, and suits are encouraged; jeans, shorts, and thin heels are discouraged.
PHOTO & SOCIAL MEDIA GUIDELINES?
It's the modern age and we are thrilled to integrate a digital guest book into our wedding day! What does this mean for you as our guest? We ask that you please Opt-In for text prompts from Confetti, and then please take several pictures and videos of the day to share with us.
Even with this digital guest book, please keep photos and video during the ceremony discrete so as not to disrupt the photographer or other guests. Feel free to take plenty of photos and videos of the celebration during the reception. We will also have a photobooth area available. If you want to post on Instagram, tag us, and use our wedding hashtags: #CaughtAScott and #SavandBen
WHAT AIRPORT DO I FLY INTO?
CHS - Charleston International Airport
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY HOTEL/AIRBNB?
We'd recommend you book as soon as possible. Some places on Folly Beach and in Charleston book out a year in advance. We recommend friends and family search for places together to lower costs.
ARE KIDS ALLOWED?
Absolutely! We have children in our lives that we would love to be a part of our special day. That being said, near the end of the event the dance floor may be less child-friendly. If you'd like the night-off, please contact Savannah at least a month in advance for local baby-sitter recommendations.
WHERE SHOULD I STAY?
The most convenient and picturesque location would be any rental on Folly Beach or James Island. We highly recommend family and friends book together to cut costs. If you choose to book a rental in Downtown Charleston, West Ashley, Mt. Pleasant, or North Charleston, please be aware this could be a 1 hour commute from the venue on a lovely April Saturday. It's bottleneck traffic to the beach! Please feel free to reach out to us when planning if you'd like advice on the area.
WILL THE CEREMONY & RECEPTION BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?
Both are outdoors. We recommend bringing a light jacket and umbrella - JUST IN CASE. There will be a pavilion and tent in the event of rain.
CAN I BRING A GUEST/DATE?
We unfortunately cannot accommodate additional guests. Due to limited capacity, we can only allow the people named on your invitation. If this concerns you, please reach out to Savannah with questions before March 27th.
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?
The ceremony will begin at 4:00 PM. Please arrive AT LEAST 30 -45 minutes prior to the ceremony to park and find your seat. FOR FREE PARKING TELL THE GATE YOU ARE HERE FOR THE PELICAN WATCH RESERVATION.
IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE AT THE WEDDING VENUE?
Yes, there is parking at the venue, however, it is first come first serve, and because it is at a county park, the parking spaces are open to the public too. We recommend carpooling. You will be admitted through the gate free of charge as our wedding guest. If there are not any parking spaces when you arrive, you will need to park on the street outside of the county park gate.
IMPORTANT - Folly Beach Street Parking Rules:
- No parking on the roadway. All four tires must be off the road. If white lines are painted, tires must be outside the white line. - No parking against traffic. All vehicles must park with the flow of traffic. - No parking in a crosswalk. - No parking within 20 feet of an intersection. - No parking on sidewalks. - No blocking public or private driveways. - No parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. - No stopping, standing, or parking in a roadway. - No diagonal parking unless posted. COFFEE & COCKTAIL HOUR
Will there be alcohol at the reception? Great question! We have a diverse set of family and friends from various religious denominations and personal persuasions, and we would like to be respectful to all. The groom's family will be assisting us in providing wine and craft beer at the reception to interested guests of legal age. We will also have an unlimited coffee and latte bar (with hot chocolate, too!) to better accommodate our guests with other preferences.
IMPORTANT VENUE RULES
We will provide libations and foods at the pavilion for the reception. These can be enjoyed at the pavilion but not on the BEACH: Please be aware that alcohol and smoking are prohibited on the BEACH at all times. Glass, Styrofoam, and plastic are not allowed on the BEACH. Liquor is prohibited at the venue all together. Staff will cancel the wedding if these rules are broken, please abide by the guidelines.
