Our Wedding

Ryan and Sawyer met online and started their story with a sushi date back in May of 2022. Their second date is what really sealed the deal when Ryan invited Sawyer to join him and his friends in an offshore fishing trip. It was the perfect trip and the mahi they caught were the cherry on top. His friends commented if a girl who’s only been on one date with you is wanting to go offshore fishing with a bunch of random guys then she’s a keeper! Sawyer’s friends were equally excited that she found a nice guy who enjoys fishing as much as she does. Three and a half years later Ryan proposed on the same boat they spent their second date on and from there here we are at planning a wedding for this beautiful couple!

Due to the fact this will be an outside wedding in August we would like you to dress as comfortably as possible. There will be fans around the venue and in the tent, but as we know, Charleston remains a hot area even for an afternoon wedding. We asked that women wear cocktail attire or summer dresses. Men are welcome to dress up, but khakis and a polo type shirt are fine too. Basically make sure that you are going to be comfortable in whatever you’re wearing and that it’s breathable material.

Listed are hotels that we have made complimentary room blocks for our guest to use. You certainly do not have to stay at these hotels but if enough people do stay at these then we are going to try to provide transportation to and from the wedding for the first 50 people from the hotels listed below so you can enjoy the wedding to the fullest! We will update the website with exact times to expect the bus for pickup but it will start pick up at 3:30 and travel once to each hotel for pickup. Drop off will be directly following the end of the wedding which ends at 10pm. Update: At this time to the transportation bus is full. If you have already signed up for it then you are good to go! All others will have to find their own transportation to and from the venue.

IS THE CEREMONY AND RECEPTION AT THE SAME LOCATION? Yes, the ceremony and the reception will the at The Island House, 2658 Swygert Blvd, Johns Island, SC 29455. ARE KIDS ALLOWED? We love your little ones, but we are unable to accommodate guests under age unless part of the wedding party. CAN I BRING A GUEST? If your invitation and RSVP allow a plus one then absolutely, however, if it does not then please refrain from inviting anyone. WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR THE CEREMONY? You should plan to arrive between 4:30 and 4:45 pm on Saturday. It is important to note that there is only 2 ways on and off the island, so you may encounter traffic if you are not staying in the Johns Island area. We highly recommend using an app like Waze to give you an accurate idea of how long it will take you to get to the venue. IS THERE PARKING? Yes, there is plenty of parking at the venue. CAN I LEAVE MY CAR OVERNIGHT? Yes, but your car must be picked between 9am-10:30am the next day. ARE UBERS/LYFTS READILY AVAILABLE? Yes, ride share services frequently come to this area of Johns Island . We also are going to try to provide transportation to and from the preferred hotels listed in the Travel page of our website for your convenience for the first 50 people. WHAT IS THE WEATHER AND CLIMATE LIKE IN THE AREA The weather in Charleston is hot in August so dress accordingly. However, we will have six large mounted fans set up in the tent area. WILL THE WEDDING/RECEPTION BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS? Both events will take place outdoors. So not a bad idea to bring your bug spray and sun screen. WHAT IF I HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES OR RESTRICTIONS? Please notate this on your RSVP. Our menu should have option options for everyone though. WILL THEIR BE AN OPEN BAR? Yes, there will be beer and wine available on us. Drink responsibly!
