Born 2 years, 2 weeks, and 2 hours apart at the exact same hospital, I guess you can say it was destiny. A story that unfolds many years later.

Unknowingly that message was the start of forever. Never in a million years would I think social media would be the gateway to my future husband.

Straight to the point is how the conversation continued. At the time I was getting to know someone else and was in no way interested in getting to know a “stranger” further more, dating one.

The persistence was impressive but of course I wasn’t budging. Every morning thereafter, I received “good morning” messages and well wishes and encouragement for the day. One thing I have always admired about my future husband is his respect. Never once after I shared I was getting to know someone else did he ask me about dating me. He never overstepped the boundaries that I have placed. As time went on, the other situation did not work out and I was completely back on the market, but I didn’t say anything because I was just enjoying our conversation at the moment.

It was a joke.

It was still a joke. …… so we thought.
As time went on the friendship grew. Keith was a truck driver so long hours on the road and plenty time for conversation which eventually led to one of the best friendships I’ve ever had. But it was just that, a friendship. We hadn’t met in person yet and it was about time!
We both had families heavily in the church so my mom took me to a choir rehearsal his church was hosting to finally meet! It felt like a friendship of ages. Immediately hit it off ! That was our one and only face to face interactions in years.
Time had gone on and he began dating and so did I. In that time we lost contact. 2014 Keith moved to PA. He had a beautiful baby girl. 2016 I began dating and got into a long term relationship that lasted about 4 years and silently, we wished each other the best.
Fast forward 2022

7 years later and unknowingly the love of my life was back to stay. After days of catching up, then came THE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION!
February 8, 2022
{Instagram DM: “what are you doing for Valentine’s Day weekend?”}
I explained I was going to Charlotte, North Carolina for the weekend to visit a close friend. And BOOM!
“I live in Charlotte now, when you come down, let’s catch up”.
That weekend Saturday evening we went to a local bar and ALL of the butterflies you could imagine consumed me. It was great, everyday after was great! It was almost like the start of something completely new! Months flew past and I made more frequent trips to Charlotte, met family (who we found out later on knew some of my family as well) and friends!
Fast forward to a year later February 25, 2023 (he clearly didn’t waste any time) the question was finally asked…
“Will You Marry Me?”
“YES” has never come easier !
Needless to say October 18, 2024 will be a fairytale come true! #PendingThePenders
