We met in the most romantic way two millennials can meet nowadays, the internet.

It wasn't on Tinder. We weren't catfishing people on Plenty of Fish. This one involved giving out coffee beans and bagels? We still don't quite know how it worked. We bonded through our Midwestern roots and our roots here in Colorado. We both lived in Colorado Springs before moving to Denver and lived to tell about it.

The sight of an aging purple Ford Taurus picking Kira up somehow did not end the first date before it started. Neither did the strange mid-afternoon start time. We went to see something Minnesota sports fans can only ever dream of seeing, a championship trophy, the Stanley Cup to be exact.

We then made our way to the place Scott always brings people from out of town, Avanti food hall in the overly-hip Highlands neighborhood of Denver. We sat on their patio overlooking the Mile High City skyline and talked until the sun went down. After that date, the rest is history....
