Welcome to our wedding website, we can’t wait to celebrate our special day with you!&nbsp;

Our story began at Michigan State University in August 2010, when we met through mutual friends at a social gathering. A couple weeks later we went on a very&nbsp;romantic&nbsp;first date to the MSU&nbsp;library to study.&nbsp;Menali got bored 20 minutes into the "date" and left to go hang out with her friends.









Four years later,&nbsp;we both graduated&nbsp;from MSU&nbsp;and&nbsp;moved out of Michigan;&nbsp;Scotty to Louisville, KY and Menali to Cleveland, OH. By fall of 2017 we&nbsp;had both returned home to Michigan and settled down together in Novi.&nbsp;&nbsp;In December 2017 we added&nbsp;a Boston Terrier puppy, Ace, to our family.&nbsp; On&nbsp;Labor Day weekend 2018, Scotty popped&nbsp;&nbsp;the question at the end of a long walk on Miners Beach&nbsp;at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.&nbsp;Menali cried tears of joy and eventually&nbsp;said yes. Both sets of&nbsp;parents&nbsp;breathed&nbsp;a long-awaited&nbsp;sigh&nbsp;of relief.

We are very excited to begin this new chapter together with family and friends!

How do you know Scotty?

Being Scotty's older brother, I've known him almost his entire life. Wait, I guess I've known him his entire life? Actually I don't think I was there in the delivery room but I was definitely in the house when he was brought home. I don't remember much from our first encounter...




Favorite Memory of Scotty



Picking a favorite memory with my younger brother is a nearly impossible task so I'm going to broaden it to the many memories of visiting my brother, whether it be at Michigan State for football games, Louisville, and the three Kentucky Derbys we've been to together, or the multiple trips to Chattanooga/Nashville. One trip that sticks out is one of the more uneventful; I flew down to Chattanooga to visit Scotty for a 3-day weekend. Late Friday night, after one or two drinks downtown (definitely not more than that) we got into a pretty intense/nearly physical altercation in the middle of a busy street. The details are fuzzy, but&nbsp;I think it was over who was going to call an Uber home?&nbsp;&nbsp;Anyway, after making it home safely, we passed out and woke up at about 3:30 pm Saturday. Since this was only a weekend visit, we were very upset with ourselves but headed back downtown to make the most of the remainder of the weekend anyway.&nbsp;

How do you know Menali?

I am Menali's older sister. Growing up only 16 months apart, we have always been super close and mistaken as twins, still to this day.&nbsp;

















Favorite Memory of&nbsp;Menali

















One of my fondest memories with Menali was many years ago in Michigan going to a distant auntie’s house for a holiday get together. We were unsure which house was theirs, so we scoped out the surroundings to see which house others were entering. Most people entered through the front door without knocking or ringing the bell, so we followed suit. Turns out this was the wrong house who also happened to be hosting a party. Our shoes were off and everyone was staring at us wondering who we are. We left in embarrassment, and laughed to the point of tears in the car.

How do you know Scotty?

I met Scotty in 4th grade when we were both in the same class. In high school we had two years of Spanish class together, which usually just consisted of us practicing&nbsp;swearing in Spanish for an hour. We were roommates at Michigan State University for three years; from shotgunning beers sophomore year at Cedar Village (when&nbsp;Menali and Scotty first met), to &nbsp;Sunset Ave, where #526 was born. Although I don’t see him&nbsp;nearly as much anymore, whenever we get back together it’s like we’re college&nbsp;roommates&nbsp;again; that’s how I know he’s my best friend.



Favorite Memory of Scotty

My favorite memory with Scotty was when some of the #526 boys went on a weekend&nbsp;retreat&nbsp;to Connor Clark’s family cottage at Lake Manuka. The weather was rainy and&nbsp;55 degrees but we were insistent on taking the jet skis and pontoon out and made one hell of a weekend out of it.

I met Menali in Elementary School but we became best friends in 6th Grade, after the passing of our mutual bestie, Jaime Ives.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Towards the beginning of Highschool, Menali and I had already established ourselves as best friends and accomplices in all of our schemes.&nbsp; One of our fun plans resulted in me being grounded from going over to Menali's. That rule ensued another scheme, where I would sneak Menali into my room in my parents house and have a sneaky sleepover. We giggled all night and I even took my breakfast to my room in the morning so we could have breakfast in bed. We snuck her back out afterwards without getting caught.&nbsp;

We were "diaper baby friends" since our mothers had us in the same daycare as babies and become closer as we played sports together growing up.&nbsp;





Favorite Memory of Menali&nbsp;





One of my favorite memories with Menali is our trip to Scandinavia. Our last stop was in Stockholm, Sweden. Per our usual routine, we wondered around the city in the evening with no particular location in mind, getting a lay of the land. We stopped at a pretty area by the water to rest for a minute. Little did we know, we weren’t alone. After our chatting quieted down and we took time to enjoy the beautiful scenery, we heard rustling behind us, and above on the small monument we were sitting on. Turns out, Stockholm has a lot of rats and we all jumped and began noticing just how many rats were around. We went back to our hotel shortly after that, keeping our eyes open for the plague transporters.&nbsp;

How do you know Scotty?

I first met Scott Bandkau Jr&nbsp;during our freshman year at Michigan State. He lived on the same floor as me in East Wilson. The backward-hatted, double ear-ringed Scott reminded me of a kid from my high school so I was hesitant to get to know him. All that hesitation went away after a couple of nights out. "Moose" grew into one of my closest friends as we navigated through the college of engineering, 526, and our first internships at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory together.&nbsp;



Favorite Memory of Scotty



My favorite memory of Moose&nbsp;comes from our internship at the Cyclotron. Let's just say we learned a lot about how not to act as a professional from that experience. Anyway, on this particular day, we were all "g-chatting" on gmail&nbsp;with some other close friends who were also on internships. Scott and I sat on the same floor but in different areas. One day,&nbsp;while g-chatting, I remember laughing so hard that I had to leave my desk and go to the bathroom to contain my laughter (our floor was usually dead quiet). On my way to the bathroom, I saw Moose walking swiftly to the bathroom with his hands over his face, laughing hysterically too.

Scotty and I met at the Wilson Hall dorms in our first year studying engineering at Michigan State. We later became floor mates at the 526 Sunset mansion (I’m sure he misses my guitar playing at all hours of the night).





Favorite Memory of Scotty





My favorite memory was early on at MSU when Scotty made us guess what his middle name was. Once we figured out his middle initial was M, he shortly thereafter accepted his all time great new nickname: MOOSE.



Second favorite memory: jet skiing with dirt bike helmets on Lake Manuka.

The past 10 years have been filled with tons of good memories for Menali and I. Some of the best memories have included&nbsp;high school softball, late night swims at Dunham lake, MSU&nbsp;Tailgates, and tubing down the river up north at my Aunt's Cottage. Now that I have moved back to the east side of the state, we make sure to get our weekly wine/dinner nights in, sorry Scotty :)

I&nbsp;moved into an apartment blind at MSU&nbsp;with Menali, and that led us to become instant best friends and&nbsp;roommates for the last 3 years of college.&nbsp;

In our apartment at Campus Village, Menali’s room was on the opposite sides from mine and every single early morning tailgate one of us would scream to each other from our beds asking if the other one was awake.&nbsp; Even though we had two other roommates who each had a room next to ours, Menali and I did not care whether we woke them up from us screaming across the apartment.&nbsp; Also, we did not bother asking if our other roommates were joining us because it was openly obvious how Menali and I were are each other’s favorites.

Spending a freezing cold spring weekend in northern Michigan and watching Scotty jet ski around the lake with a motorcycle helmet on. The helmet may have saved his face too...
