Taylor and Sean’s story began in 2017 at Sergeant Bluff-Luton High School where their shared passions for sports, faith, and family drew them together. In high school, they enjoyed cheering each other on, cruising with friends, attending dances, spending time with family, and taking some of the same classes. After a year and a half of dating, Taylor graduated from SB-L. She moved to Ames to attend Iowa State University, and the two knew they wanted to stay together despite the distance. Although being apart was tough, the two made it work. Taylor frequently visited home and Sean attended various sporting events in Ames on the weekends where they saw each other.
When COVID-19 cut Taylor’s second year at ISU short, she returned home, allowing them to spend more time together again. Taylor enjoyed being around for Sean's senior year memories. That fall, Sean moved to Ames for college to study kinesiology and health. The couple enjoyed Ames and all of the new experiences of being in college together. After Taylor graduated from Iowa State in 2022, she took a teaching position in Boone, Iowa, to stay close to Sean for another two years. They filled their time in Ames working out, attending Iowa State games, walking around campus, and creating lasting memories with friends.
When Sean was accepted into Union’s Master’s Physician Assistant Program in Lincoln, Nebraska, Taylor secured a job at Pius X High School. The summer after Sean graduated from Iowa State, he proposed to Taylor on a beautiful beach in Mexico during a vacation with his family, who helped orchestrate and capture the moment perfectly.
Now living in Lincoln, Taylor and Sean are embracing this new chapter together. They are grateful for the eight years they’ve shared and are looking forward to forever!
