Our Wedding

It was a Monday night around December of 2022, that I had gone to my regular Bible study night and during worship I saw a guy from the band with a big red jacket and a beard and literally thought “Whoa, I can see that this man loves God.” I was so awe that I haven’t even spoken to him and it was already visible his love for the LORD. You know how we girls are, so Alex (my friend) became a spy and found out that he was single by asking the drummer of the band. Of course, we both also did our homework on the social media aspect and figure out a lot and if I was to share it, I would probably sound creepy. During this time, I was being intentional with my time and how God wanted me to go through with a relationship in my life. So I pray, I asked God that if he was going to be my husband, that this friendship and relationship was according to Gods time. Mind you, this all was before I even spoke a word to Sebastian. I pray and pray for this man even without knowing what he thought about me or if he even knew about me. I just knew that I had given it God and God was going to let what needed to unfold according to His time. Months later, Alex (she was pretty much or wingwoman) texted me that Sebastian was going to be part of the band that was leading worship at a coffee shop downtown, so of course I left work early and head there with my scrubs on and looking rough after a long 12 hour shift. At the end of worship, Sebastian came and introduced himself and of course I acted as if I didn’t even know his name. After that night, we started a friendship of at first just encounters within a group of friends and then it lead to texts throughout the day. Within a few months we were dating and I knew that I had found my future husband. God took His time on this part of my life, but on June 3rd, I became Sebastian’s girlfriend. It was a happy day and day that came true after many prayers written on my prayer journal. In our relationship we have been so intentional about learning about each other but what it is the true meaning of a relationship, and how God is in the center. Even though it only has been so long since we have been together, I know this is my best friend and the man that God made me wait patiently but I would do it again.

Mila’s Side of the Story 

My side of the story is a funny one. Everything started when a friend came up to me to tell me that someone like me; my mind immediately went to WHO? He tried to describe Mila to the best of his ability, but honestly, I was not looking to get into a relationship with anyone then. That was Jesus and me time! A Monday night, during a Bible study, I finally saw Mila, and my friend told me that’s her… but, again, my mind went to “this is Jesus and me time.” Several weeks went by like that until finally, on a Saturday night at a worship event, I decided to talk to her. I introduced myself, acted like I did not know she liked me, and I have not stalked her on Facebook a couple of times. We talked for a little bit, and then a friend of hers convinced her of going to eat out with us. That night, I purposely sat by her side and talked to her all night long. I just wanted to get to know her and see who she was. I liked her that night, and I indeed knew how special she was. Mila was super honest about her life and walk with Christ, as well as about her past and how God has rescued her from her old self. She was so real to me, and I truly appreciated that. Several weeks passed by, and we started hanging out with the same group of people. We started seeing each other more often and rapidly began to get closer and closer to each other. One Friday night, I finally made a move on her. I shared with her a testimony that I saw on YouTube. I sent it via Facebook Messenger since we did not have each other’s phone numbers. But, once I sent her the message about the testimony, I included another text saying, “Here is my phone number; text me there.” I thought that was so smooth and so funny, but she indeed texted me. We kept on talking and calling each other until one day. Something happened on April 13, 2023, that made me realize how much I loved her and how protective I was of her. That day, I realized my life wouldn’t be the same without her. I had to keep her forever. From then on, my love for her just grew stronger.
