I’ve known Sebastian since we were little kids—we grew up in the same church, and our parents were close friends. But as time passed, we lost touch.

On my 16th birthday in 2019, Sebastian messaged me for the first time in years to wish me a happy birthday. We talked on and off for a few days, then suddenly we were messaging nonstop—sharing jokes, stories, and quickly becoming close friends again.

On Memorial Day 2019, Sebastian planned to tell me how he felt in person, but there was never a quiet moment alone. That evening, after I got home from the park, I received a phone call from him. That’s when he shared his feelings with me.

Being the respectful man he is, Sebastian reached out to my parents to ask for their permission to get to know me better. That same day, he brought me a single yellow rose—one I still have to this day.

After a few months of talking, Sebastian once again reached out to my parents—this time to ask for their blessing to officially ask me out. On October 14, 2019, we officially became a couple.

Fast forward to April 27, 2025—after five years and six months of dating—Sebastian proposed in the middle of a field full of beautiful, colorful tulips. It was the easiest “yes” I’ve ever said.

I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life creating beautiful memories with my Sebastian.

Conozco a Sebastian desde que éramos niños — crecimos en la misma iglesia, y nuestros padres eran muy buenos amigos. Pero con el tiempo, perdimos el contacto.

En mi cumpleaños de 16 Anos, en 2019, Sebastian me envió un mensaje por primera vez en años para desearme un feliz cumpleaños. Al principio hablamos intermitentemente por unos días, pero pronto comenzamos a escribirnos sin parar—compartiendo chistes, historias, y volviéndonos muy buenos amigos.

El Día de los Caídos de 2019, Sebastian planeaba decirme en persona lo que sentía por mí, pero nunca hubo un momento a solas. Esa misma noche, después de que regresé del parque, recibí una llamada suya. Fue entonces cuando me confesó sus sentimientos.

Siendo el hombre respetuoso que es, Sebastian habló con mis padres para pedirles permiso para conocerme mejor. Ese mismo día me regaló una rosa amarilla—una que conservo hasta el día de hoy.

Después de unos meses de hablar, Sebastian volvió a hablar con mis padres, esta vez para pedir su bendición y poder invitarme a salir. El 14 de octubre de 2019 comenzamos oficialmente nuestra relación.

Avanzando en el tiempo al 27 de abril de 2025—después de cinco años y seis meses de noviazgo—Sebastian me pidió matrimonio en medio de un campo de tulipanes coloridos. Fue el “sí” más fácil de mi vida.

No puedo esperar para pasar el resto de mi vida creando recuerdos hermosos junto a mi Sebastian.
