Each person might have their own preferences, however as a frequent flyer myself, I would say the best route is through Paris, the flight with Delta / Air France. There is also a decent route through Istanbul with Turkish Airlines, I would recommend both.

Each person has a personal preference, but I personally don't recommend Lufthansa or ITA airways as I have heard many stories of delayed and canceled flights (personally experienced that with Lufthansa).

You will find PLENTY of taxi drivers at the airport, Uber also works in Egypt, and there is an application called "indrive" that is reliable and you can choose your own rate - however they only take cash.

If you'd like to be close to the bride, I'm in Maadi, plenty to do if you look for a place in Maadi, Degla (this is an area with a lot of expats so English is no issue). If you would like to be closer to the venue I suggest Sheikh Zayed (more new builds in Cairo) also plenty of malls, shops and English everything.
