Give yourself ample time (a few days) to arrive in case of flight delays and/or lost luggage etc. Our Welcome Party is on the 21st. This also gives you some time to explore the city before the big day!
What's the closest airport?
Oaxaca International Airport (OAX) - less than 30 minutes drive to the Centro. Depending on the location you are flying from, you may need to take a connecting flight into either Texas or Mexico City, with your final destination being Oaxaca International Airport. In our experience, connecting through the US is cheaper but slower. If you can, connect via Mexico City.
Transportation
We highly recommend using taxis while traveling around Oaxaca - they are affordable and the most convenient. With that being said, most places in Oaxaca's Centro are within walking distance of each other. We do not recommend renting a car.
Where should we stay?
We recommend that you stay in Oaxaca's Centro, as this is where all of the wedding events will take place (check out the link below). There are many great hotels and Airbnbs to choose from - the options range from economy to luxury. Please don't hesitate to reach out to either Edwin or Seka if you have any questions.
Oaxaca's weather in January is super comfortable! Think, September in Toronto. Cool in the morning (10 degrees celsius), hot and dry in the afternoon (25-30 degrees celsius) and cool at night (10-15 degrees celsius).
Good news my frizzy-haired friends - your styled hair will stay gorgeous throughout the day.
Is there a beach close by?
Oaxaca does have gorgeous beach towns on the coast, such as Puerto Escondido and San Augustinillo, which is about 2 hours by car from Oaxaca's Centro.
Will there be children at the wedding?
The wedding and events leading up to the wedding will be adults only (18+). The only exception will be the ring bearers, Seka's two nephews. If you must travel with your kids, connect with us and we can arrange nanny services with our wedding planner.
