For those of you who TRULY know us... you may know that our story doesn't begin through a dating site, mutual friends, or going to the same gym. Our story... goes WAY back!
Jayson and I met during our 7th grade year at CAMS during basketball season... what truly sparked our interest in one another had nothing to do with basketball, but everything to do with sneakers. It was the cool thing to order customized sneakers through the NIKE ID website. Jayson happened to have yellow and black NIKE sneakers with his nickname Solly and his basketball number 10 on them. I on the other hand opted for the Yellow and Pink colors on my Nike Shocks that had my two nicknames on them, Nina and Cocoa. Jayson gave me his basketball hoodie which shortly after was returned... Nothing like a little middle school romance, which repeated itself (several times).
In 8th grade Jayson bought me a cross necklace which I still have today. If that doesn't prove that he is my person I don't know what else would! (PS see if you can find this necklace in our photos and on our wedding day!)
Our middle school romance, sparked again in 9th grade when we both found out we had the same math class, with my aunt (Marta, my matron of honor). We chose our seats wisely (not really) and decided to sit beside one another. Jayson may be part of the reason I passed 9th grade Math class. Eventually, my aunt got tired of the flirting, distractions, giggles, and constant side conversations and decided we needed our seats moved. Once again... we parted ways!
Although Jayson had girlfriends... I still showed up to his volleyball games.. not to support him of course, but to support my aunt since she was his coach. Eventually, we graduated high school in 2015 and officially parted ways. Neither of us truly kept contact with one another besides the occasional Snapchat or a like on Instagram.
Fast forward 4 years.. I graduated college and Jayson was already 2 years into his career. The summer of 2019 Jayson added me back on social media and we decided to go on our first official ADULT date.. to the movie theater to see the Lion King. After our date I received news that I got a job two hours away for a Long term sub position and I decided to take it.... Fast forward again the fall of 2019 I moved and we parted ways AGAIN.
I moved back home before Thanksgiving and was preparing to start my first full time teaching job.
Then COVID HIT... Covid turned into a lot of DIY projects, which Jayson used as a gateway to re-spark our flame!
I joked with my family that he was just my Covid Boyfriend, but we spent ALL of our time together when he was home on the weekends.
May 24th, 2020 was when we decided to make our relationship official. Jayson asked me to be his girlfriend out back by his parents fire pit.
Fast forward July 27th, 2022 we went on our motorcycle trip to Nashville, TN where Jayson popped the question and asked me to spend forever with him!
Almost one year later we bought our first home.
We are looking forward to seeing all of our family and friends watch us make the commitment to spend forever together!
We can't wait to see you soon!
