Our ceremony and reception will be held at the Hay-Adams. We have a room black with a limited number of rooms. The room block rates are $369 for a Superior Room and $469 for a Deluxe Room. These rates are available for the nights of December 20th and 21st. Please call 1 (800) 424-5054&nbsp;to make your reservation and mention the Frechter-Pfeiffer wedding in order to receive the room block rate. We have also seen good rates on the American Express hotel portal.

The Hay-Adams

We also have a block of rooms reserved at the Capitol Hilton, which is just a five minute walk to the Hay-Adams. Please click here to book your room at a discounted rate, starting at $159 per night. The rates are available for the nights of December 20th and 21st.

Capitol Hilton

While the wedding festivities are happening in downtown DC, this area is not the most interesting part of town. The Hay-Adams and the Capitol Hilton are in a very accessible neighborhood and are a short metro or car ride away from most sites. If you like to stay in more interesting neighborhoods where you can walk to local stores, cafes, and restaurants, we recommend booking an AirBnB in Georgetown, Logan Circle, or 14th Street.

Other Accommodation Options

We recommend flying into Reagan National Airport (code: DCA) if possible. DCA is a 20 minute metro ride on the Blue and Yellow lines, or a 15-25 minute car ride to downtown DC. Dulles International Airport (code: IAD) is the second-closest airport to downtown DC. Dulles is an hourlong metro ride on the Silver line, or a 30-45 minute car ride to downtown DC. Baltimore/Washington International Airport (code: BWI) is another option, but is farthest away from Downtown DC. BWI is an hourlong car ride to downtown DC, or a 40 minute ride on the MARC or Amtrak train into Union Station. There is a free shuttle from BWI Arrivals to the BWI train station. For those coming from New York, Amtrak is a great choice. Union Station is in downtown DC and a quick drive or metro from the hotels. We do not recommend renting a car while you are in town because parking is limited and expensive and Marylanders are incredibly bad and aggressive drivers.

Festive Activties

National Christmas Tree: Visit the National Christmas Tree on the Ellipse near the White House. Christmas Markets: Explore the Christmas markets in D.C., such as the Downtown Holiday Market and the European-style Christmas Village at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. ZooLights: The Smithsonian's National Zoo is transformed into a winter wonderland with thousands of sparkling lights. Enjoy holiday-themed displays, live entertainment, and the chance to see some of the animals. Ice Skating: Lace up your skates! The National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden Ice Rink and the Ice Rink at the Georgetown Waterfront are popular options. Holiday Lights at the U.S. Botanic Garden: The U.S. Botanic Garden features beautiful displays of holiday lights and festive decorations. It's a lovely place to stroll and get into the holiday spirit.
