Guests will have the opportunity to get mehndi (henna) applied if they want.

Family and friends will apply a haldi (turmeric) paste on both the bride and groom. This ritual symbolizes purification, protection, and blessings for a prosperous married life. In Punjabi culture, during the vatna, the bride's sisters will hold a phulkari (traditional floral shawl) over the bride and make rangoli (art using colored powders and/or rice) in front of her feet.
