Tinder. Of all the places to meet our soulmate, we met on Tinder! I know it's crazy to remember the exact day that we swiped right on each other.. but it was July 5, 2019. In my defense, that's my parent's wedding anniversary (I KNOW, RIGHT?)
We talked for about 2 weeks before we met in person. He was a boy, and I was a girl. Can I make it any more obvious? But that 1st meeting was magic. He opened his front door and I will never understand why, but I just immediately kissed him!
He asked me to be his girlfriend (over text..) and we made it official on July 19, 2019. The rest is history!
SO. I knew he was going to propose soon. I knew he went and looked at and put money down on a ring (THANK YOU ERICKA HUBBLE).
He got so nervous about asking my parents for their blessing that he told me about it. So I REALLY knew that he was doing it soon!
We went on a date to the Harvest Nights that Newfields was hosting. Halloween. Pretty lights. Newfields. He was going to propose. But the night went on and he kept making jokes about how "Wouldn't this be the most perfect spot for a proposal?" YES. YES IT WOULD, DYLAN.
But he never proposed. But that's OK! We still had the most amazing date night that Friday!
That Monday though... He texts me during my work day that he had to go get a mandatory COVID test at his work and that he was gonna stop and get something to eat on his way back home. He told me that he wanted to order Mexican food for dinner and that he couldn't wait to see me!
I get home and he RUSHED me into the shower ( the food was getting there at the same time I was getting home from work). I came out of the shower and he had layed out my favorite PJs and house robe and we went to the dinning room to eat.
"Hey can you look at the churros? They look a little weird to me." In the white foam container was a gorgeous black leather ring box. I turned around, tears in my eyes. I could tell he was so nervous when he FINALLY asked me "Will you marry me, baby?"
YES! FINALLY! OF COURSE I WILL!!!
So yeah. He popped the question at home, in our PJs, over Mexican food. He's truly my soulmate.
