Our Wedding

Our Story Adam and Serena’s story began on a rafting trip in Maupin, Oregon. The invitation came from Connor, one of Adam’s best men. That weekend, Serena met her one day father-in-law before she even met Adam. Throughout the trip, Adam and Serena spent hours together, laughing and bonding. What initially drew them to each other was their shared sense of humor, their mutual love for travel and adventure, and a connection over running. At the time, Serena was training for a half marathon, and Adam frequently joined her for runs, always catching her just as she was lacing up her shoes. Their first official date was a romantic evening at El Gaucho, a steakhouse in Tacoma. They ended the night sharing a slice of key lime pie, which held special meaning for Serena as it was her grandmother’s favorite dessert and a nostalgic nod to her Florida roots. That is when their relationship blossomed, and they began embarking on bigger adventures together. One of their most memorable experiences was a 44-mile backpacking trip through the Hoh Rainforest in Olympic National Park—a taxing journey that brought them even closer and made them realize how much they loved each other. Six months into their relationship, Serena sold her house in Florida and made the significant decision to move across the country to be with Adam in the Bay Area, as he was starting a career in engineering at Tesla. Although her grandparents had loved San Francisco, and her parents had visited years before, it was Serena’s first time visiting and now her new home. Together, Adam and Serena built a new chapter of their lives, navigating the excitement and challenges of starting fresh in a new city. Travel became a cornerstone of their relationship. Every weekend in California was spent in a new national park or forest. This love of travel only grew grander with adventures taking them across the globe. They’ve explored numerous countries and cities, including Greece, Italy, Turkey, Montenegro, Australia, and more. Their travels have deepened their connection and created memories that will last a lifetime. Adam gave Serena a promise ring in April of 2023 in the South Pacific on Mystery Island, Vanuatu, marking another beautiful moment in their journey together. After their time in the Bay Area, Adam and Serena moved from Cupertino, California, to Seattle when Adam transitioned his career to SpaceX. The next chapter of their story began on August 3, 2024, when Adam proposed in North Cascades National Park. During a hike to an alpine lake, Serena thought she was picking blueberries (only to discover they were special huckleberries)—just before Adam got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him. Serena loves Adam’s warmth, emotional intelligence, and ability to light up every room he enters. She admires his intellect, his care for others, and the way he approaches life with both curiosity and heart. Adam is drawn to Serena’s sweet and nurturing nature, her deep care for family and friends, and the joy she brings to their shared adventures. Together, they share a playful and quirky connection, finding joy in the little things and always supporting one another through life’s ups and downs. They eloped in a private beach ceremony on August 28, 2024(making her #200 on the Ogdon side) Adam likes to say, “Wife so nice, I had to marry her twice.” On May 25, 2025, they will say their devoted vows and celebrate their love with family and friends. Adam and Serena have built a life rooted in love, adventure, and connection, trusting that every step of their journey has been guided by divine timing. With faith in God’s perfect plan, they can’t wait to share this special moment with everyone who has been a part of their story.

Our Story

The Ogdon's

Rachel met Serena in college in 2015 (Knight's Circle, bby!), and from the very beginning, they were soulmates. Rachel’s unwavering support and love have been a beacon of light for Serena, especially during life’s toughest moments. She’s always there when Serena needs her, making her feel seen, heard, and truly understood. Both being time blind, they have a unique understanding of each other in this way. Rachel has been there for celebrations, made countless amazing memories, and traveled together—like their unforgettable time in Bali. She has helped Serena remain hopeful through challenging times, and the deep connection they share has opened Serena up spiritually. As a labor and delivery Nurse, Rachel is someone Serena dreams of having by her side in the birth plan when she and Adam start a family. Their bond is a blessing Serena thanks God for every day.

Ben, Adam's coworker at Tesla and lifelong travel buddy, has been a rock-solid friend through many daring adventures, including running with the bulls in Spain (This picture is from that day). Their shared bravery and quick friendship have created a bond that Adam deeply treasures. Ben's loyalty and spirit make him an indispensable part of the wedding.

Camille, Adam’s sister, and Serena’s sister-in-law, welcomed Serena with open arms from the very start. Serena treasures their deep conversations and the way Camille always makes her feel included. Camille has done so much for both Adam and Serena, and they deeply value her creativity, her mind, and the loving support she’s always offered. Luna also adores Camille, as she is the best vet Luna has ever had! ;) 
 Having had the honor of being a bridesmaid in Camille’s wedding last September, Serena holds a special place in her heart for Camille. Camille’s incredible vision for party planning makes her an essential part of the wedding, and her loving nature has made her a cherished sister.

Jack, one of Adam's best friends from high school, shares a deep love of flying and adventure with Adam. Their bond, forged through countless memories, including surfing, boating, and island trips make their friendship unbreakable. Jack's presence brings joy and a sense of nostalgia, making him a perfect best man for this special day.

Serena and Brandi's friendship began in 2005 at Sparc, where a promise was made that Serena would join Brandi at Truman Elementary. To Brandi's surprise and delight, Serena kept that promise, and they celebrated with joyous hugs in the bookbag cubby. Their bond has only grown stronger as they played location tag across various cities and countries. Brandi's unwavering support was instrumental in Serena's moves to join Adam in the Bay Area and later in Seattle. Their deep connection and shared adventurous spirit make her a vital part of the celebration.

Connor aka Iggy, who introduced Adam and Serena, has been a close friend since high school. His unique sense of humor and deep connection with Adam bring out Adam's best laughter, a sound Serena adores. Connor's presence is a reminder of the beautiful journey that led to this day, making him a cherished best man.

Nicole, Serena's cousin and built-in bestie, has been a constant source of joy and endless conversations. From childhood antics, like hiding in Nicole's parents minivan just to spend more time together after holiday parties, to long phone calls about everything and nothing, Nicole has always been there. Their bond is a testament to the enduring love of family, filled with shared laughter and cherished memories. Nicole's presence in the wedding is a celebration of their lifelong friendship and unbreakable connection.

Conner, Adam's Cousin and one of his oldest friends, brings joy and laughter whenever they're together. Their ability to pick up right where they left off is a testament to their deep bond. Conner's energy and lightheartedness make him an essential part of the wedding.

Serena and Sydney's friendship began by sheer chance in sixth grade art class, where they were placed together at the green table. Serena's brave and quirky nature led her to ask Sydney to be friends, despite Sydney's initial reaction of "what a weirdo." Bean may be a weirdo, Yet, that bold move blossomed into a steadfast friendship that has endured through countless road trips, Car-eoke, and new cities. Sydney's support and acceptance of Serena's quirks have created a bond that is both comforting and irreplaceable. Their journey from that green table to today is a testament to the strength of their friendship.

Michael, Adam's mentor turned Best Bud, has been a guiding force in Adam's life. It was Michael who referred Adam to SpaceX, a pivotal moment in Adam's career. Their bond grew stronger through their work together and shared experiences. Michael, his wife Janice, and their kids traveled to the Bay Area for several meet-ups, creating cherished memories. Now, they all live in the Seattle greater area, continuing to share their lives and support each other. Adam and Serena love attending church with Michael and Janice, which has further strengthened their bond. Michael's presence is a heartfelt reminder of the strength and beauty of God's divine timing.

Misty, Serena's sister, is a resilient and beautiful person inside and out. Her dedication as a mother has been one of the many examples to Serena of what it truly means to sacrifice and give to others. Misty's hilarious nature and reliable support have strengthened their bond over the years. She is a great, loyal sister and a hard worker, embodying the strength and love of family. Misty's presence is a cherished reminder of the deep connection they share.

Below are some travel details to help you plan your trip.  Nearest Airport  ✈️ Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) – About 10-15 minutes from Normandy Park Cove. This is the best airport to fly into for easy access to the wedding venue.  Hotel Accommodations  We recommend staying at an Airbnb near Normandy Park or in Seattle, depending on your plans. Here are some other options:  🛏️ Near Normandy Park (Closest to the Venue) • Cedarbrook Lodge (Luxury, nature-inspired, near SEA airport) • Hilton Seattle Airport & Conference Center (Convenient and comfortable) • Aloft Seattle Sea-Tac Airport (Modern and budget-friendly)  🏙️ In Seattle (For a City Experience) • The Edgewater Hotel (Waterfront, beautiful views) • Thompson Seattle (Trendy and centrally located) and the brides maiden name 😉 • Hotel Sorrento (Classic charm with historic elegance)  If you’d like to stay elsewhere, Airbnb and Vrbo have great rental options in Normandy Park, Des Moines Marina, and nearby Burien.   Transportation  🚗 Rental Cars & Rideshares: Seattle-Tacoma Airport has plenty of car rental options, but Uber and Lyft are also reliable. Normandy Park is a short drive from the airport, so a rental car isn’t necessary unless you plan to explore more of the area.  🚙 Parking at the Venue: There is parking at Normandy Park Cove but could fill up, so we encourage carpooling or using a rideshare. We will have an open bar so enjoy yourself but plan responsibly.
