How We MetWe first met at the Gold Cup Races in September 2021, a tradition close to Logan’s heart, as his dad has always had a deep love for racing. Serenity had never been to the races before but decided to go with a friend. While Serenity originally went with the promise of meeting a cowboy, she ended up meeting Logan, and the only thing he and a cowboy had in common was their love for drinking Budweiser. (No, we are not a paid sponsor, even if the sponsor might have helped pay for the wedding.)Our first impressions were definitely memorable. Logan thought Serenity was beautiful and even made his mom switch seats with him so he could try to work his magic. His attempts at flirting did not exactly go as planned. Serenity was not quite sure what to make of it all, especially when he proudly sent her a photo of a driver’s signature across his chest, all because of a $20 bet he could not resist. Though first impressions were not love at first sight, they perfectly represented the foundation of our relationship: a slow burn that grew into something steady, strong, and beautiful.Our first official date was a triple bowling night with friends, filled with laughter, a few unexpected pairings, and the first real glimpse that being around each other just felt easy. From there, our relationship grew, not through big dramatic moments, but through everyday efforts, small acts of kindness, and the willingness to keep choosing each other.Our RelationshipOne of the first things that stood out to Serenity was how much Logan fought for their connection. He never made excuses, he showed up, was honest, and was willing to grow. Serenity quickly saw that behind the jokes and nerves was someone genuine, loyal, and worth holding onto.Even her dad, who had rarely ever thought anyone was good enough, told her after meeting Logan for the second time, "Don’t let this one go." It was a small moment, but one that stayed with her.For Logan, it became clear early on that what they were building was rare, something strong, real, and lasting. For Serenity, it was not about one single moment; it was about the slow and steady building of trust, friendship, and love that made her realize she could not imagine life without him.At the heart of everything, we are each other's best friend. We are each other’s best friend, and we cannot wait for all the adventures ahead.The ProposalLogan had been planning for months. He bought the ring in August, tucked it away in his toolbox, and waited for the right moment. Eventually, he suggested a professional photo shoot for their anniversary, an idea that immediately raised Serenity’s suspicions (especially after he happily agreed to a spontaneous shopping trip for new clothes).Determined to figure it out, Serenity searched the entire house, including Logan’s toolbox, looking for any sign of a ring. It turns out, it was hidden safely in the one drawer she did not open.At the beautiful Bidwell park during their photoshoot, Logan was visibly nervous. After a few pictures, the photographer gave him a small cue, and with shaking hands, Logan got down on one knee. Serenity said “yes” without hesitation, overwhelmed with happiness. Later, she found out that Logan had been holding onto the ring for three months, a secret he somehow managed to keep, even with all of her snooping.Looking AheadAs we step into this next chapter, our hearts are full.Logan is most excited to build a life hand in hand with Serenity, dreaming big, creating memories, and building a home filled with love and laughter.Serenity is excited to spend forever with her best friend, growing together, building a future, and experiencing every chapter of life side by side.Together, we dream of traveling the world, raising a family grounded in love, trust, and adventure, and cherishing all the ordinary and extraordinary moments along the way.We cannot wait for what is ahead, and we are so grateful to have you standing beside us as we begin forever.

Marissa came into my life during COVID in the most Marissa way possible, by randomly speaking up in a Zoom class and asking to be friends because we were taking three of the same classes. And just like that, we were. What started with FaceTiming and asking to spend the night at her house so I could keep my job at the local hospital (while my apartment wasn’t ready and I had moved home for a bit) somehow turned into me later moving into that same house. We’ve lived together, done life side by side, and walked through some of the most meaningful seasons together. She is my best friend, and somehow all of my best stories include her, which feels very on brand for us. She makes you feel completely seen and deeply loved, even from hundreds of miles away. She shows up in a way that makes you feel steady and supported through every little and big moment. We’ve already shared so many chapters, and I truly cannot wait for the ones still ahead. I am so lucky to have her as my maid of honor. My love and appreciation for her goes beyond words, and so does my love for her sweet girl, Brenley. I love those two with my whole heart.

Marissa- Maid of Honor 

Chris and I go way back to day one of high school, where I initially thought he was super weird. Luckily, he slowly worked out of his weird phase, and we were able to become best friends. He is one of the goofiest, most unapologetically authentic people I know. That personality led him to be a perfect co-leader for our Mack Pack student section, where we shared our love for being loud and sharing our opinion. One of my favorite moments with Chris was during “Chicoween” where Chris boldly (and by boldly, I mean drunkily) proclaimed, “If I’m not your Best Man at your wedding, I’m gonna be pissed.” Well, buddy, here we are!

Chris-Best man 

Charlene has been in my life since fourth grade, although she would love to remind you that in third grade, we were not fans of each other. I used to wish I had a sibling growing up, but Charlene filled that space in a way I didn’t even realize I needed. We did every stage of life side by side, sports, summer camps, first boyfriends. It was almost always a guaranteed yes from our parents if they knew we’d be together. At one point, she even switched high schools so we wouldn’t have to do it apart. We tried building go-karts out of plywood, secretly adopted the neighborhood cat and named it Mittens, and once drank her parents’ coffee liquor thinking we were the coolest girls alive. Every embarrassing childhood memory I have, she’s in it. When I moved to Auburn, we were devastated because we had never done life apart. But if there’s one thing I’ve always known with certainty, it’s my friendship with Charlene. I am incredibly lucky to still have the same best friend from fourth grade, and now she stands beside me as we step into this next chapter.

Charlene- Bridesmaid 

Jacob and I technically go way back. Our dads and grandpas were friends long before we were born. However, we independently became friends when we played on the same baseball team just before high school. He’s been one of the most consistent voices in my life, especially when it comes to pushing me toward my career goals and growing my love for music. Shortly before the country shutdown for the Covid pandemic, Jacob and I spent an afternoon disc golfing together. We kept our distance throughout the round but shook hands at the end joking, “We just spread Covid.” A couple days later, I was severely ill with what is assumed to be Covid. If he wanted to play more video games together, he didn’t need to shut down the entire country.

Jacob-Groomsman 

Lexi and I met freshman year of college when her room was just three doors down from mine. From the start, our friendship felt easy. She is kind, loving, and truly one of a kind. We’ve walked through some of the hardest seasons of college together. As much fun as those years were, there were tears too, and she was there for all of it. When I think of Lexi, I think of reliability. The kind that’s hard to put into words but makes you feel incredibly safe and lucky to be loved by someone like her. What I appreciate most is the deep respect we have for each other, for our lives, our professions, and the space we’ve both needed to grow. Our love has never wavered with time or distance. She is one of the silliest girls I know, but also the person I could call at any moment and know she would show up without hesitation. We used to talk about the future during late nights and way too many frat parties, and it feels surreal, and such a blessing, to now be living the future we once imagined together.

Lexi- Bridesmaid 

Lucas and I met playing soccer freshman year of high school, and that started a long friendship rooted in soccer. We played all four years together, then kept the tradition alive in college through intramural soccer (where we won a championship, no thanks to us) and again in city league (where we got last, undeniably because of us). Lucas played a large role in my decision to go to Chico State. We ended up living together our senior year, majoring in Alcoholic Beverages and Bad Decisions with minors in Engineering and Construction Management.

Lucas-Groomsman 

Lacie and I have been friends for a long time, from mutual friends in high school to eventually bonding over the shared trauma of working at Bel Air together. We clicked quickly, which made it especially hard when I moved to Chico just as our friendship was really beginning to deepen. What I love most about Lacie is her heart. She is deeply loyal, effortlessly funny, and the kind of friend who makes even the most ordinary moments feel meaningful. Some of my favorite memories with her aren’t the big milestones, but the simple ones, talking for hours, wandering through grocery stores, laughing at inside jokes that no one else would understand. We’ve grown through good seasons, difficult seasons, and the quiet in-between ones that shape you the most. From San Diego to Colorado to Chico to now Idaho, distance has never defined us. Even when life has gotten busy and the talking naturally decreased, the moment we reconnect it feels as though no time has passed, which only makes the devotion to maintaining this friendship that much clearer. I truly cannot imagine my life without Lacie in it. There is a comfort in knowing that no matter where we are, we fit, and we always will.

Lacie- Bridesmaid 

Matt and I first met because he was one of Serenity’s coworkers. We all eventually hung out and we immediately hit it off. After briefly moving away, he made his way back to Chico and ended up living with us for nearly a year, bringing along his dog, the love of Winston's life, Nala. During that time, we bonded over video games and an endless amount of watching and playing sports (Serenity loved that era!). Matt and I have a bad habit of encouraging each other’s random hobby phases, most notably our unforgettable year in competitive cornhole leagues. Unfortunately, he’s also the negative influence who introduced me to blackjack. I’d probably be retired by now if it weren’t for him.

Matt-Groomsman

Jasmine is Logan’s best man’s wife, and when the boys introduced us way back when, they were really hoping we’d hit it off, and we instantly did. I mean, who doesn’t become friends after sharing a Chicoween together? Since then, our friendship has grown so naturally. Jasmine is kind, loyal, intelligent, and perfectly silly. We’ve made the best memories, from freezing snowboarding trips to her sister ripping the zipper of my dress at Jasmine’s wedding, which resulted in the whole thing running late. Truly unforgettable. Being friends with Jasmine is easy. It’s light, fun, and full of laughter. I’m so grateful she’ll be standing beside me on such an important day.

Alex and I met through high school soccer on the same teams as Lucas. While he was not on our last-place city league team, he was on the championship intramural team, but I cannot recommend you assume he was the difference between those two teams…. It was Marissa. Our friendship took a large step when we lived together during our senior year of college, also with Lucas. Conveniently, Alex shared the same major as me and Lucas, so most of my college stories start with both of them. Alex was a prominent member of that Mack Pack crew, where he famously got ejected from a championship game within minutes of tip-off for yelling something that cannot be repeated here. These days, our bond revolves around golf, gambling, and the dangerous combo of the two. Most importantly, it was Alex’s interest in Serenity’s friend that kept Serenity around long enough for me to work my magic.

Wineries 

Placerville is filled with many wineries as it can be considered a smaller Napa. If you are able to find the time attending the various wineries would not disappoint!

Restaurants 

The hotel location is near downtown Placerville. Downtown Placerville has a few restaurants, and breweries. We recommend checking them out!

Travel

We’re starting the wedding weekend with a little friendly fun at the golf simulators inside Red Hawk Casino Apex. Be ready to laugh, play, and mingle!We’ve reserved all four simulators for a few hours so everyone can join in. This is our golfer-friendly (and much more relaxed!) twist on the golf tournament Logan originally had in mind.Not a golfer? No problem at all! Come hang out, grab a drink at the nearby sports bar, and enjoy the atmosphere. Whether you're there to golf or for fun, everyone is welcome.While Apex also has other activities like go-karts and bowling nearby, we'll only be reserving the golf simulators for this event. The goal is to spend time together and kick off the weekend with a little friendly competition!
