To give everyone a small back story as to how Bobby and I first met: Bobby and I first met as children. We were 13 years old and living in Vicksburg Mississippi. While residing in Mississippi, my mother passed away. The night I learned that my mother had passed it was family members everywhere and things just seemed so chaotic. I remember walking to my room; sobbing and trying to process the mess of it all. While lying down on my bed, I heard a small peck at my window. It was my childhood friend. His presence was acknowledged only through silence. He sat quietly outside my window. His presence provided comfort. Through my hurt and my pain, he never left. During that time we were just children; knowing nothing about grief or loss or pain. He sat there quietly until I fell asleep. When I awoke, he was gone.

I relocated to Texas that same week but never forgot about my friend who sat outside my window; Mr. Bobby R. Martin. It had been over 30 years since neither one of us spoke or heard from each other. The two of us had been traveling two separate paths throughout this journey of life; when one day, life encircled and we were rekindled through a childhood friend who had located me on Facebook.

This is Bobby now talking: " When we were kids, the younger version of myself never told ShaDonna that I was madly in love with her, and once I had the opportunity I made sure I took advantage of it. After we rekindled, I immediately confessed how I felt about her, how I always thought about her, and how I still love her. She forgot to mention that while we were talking on the phone; I asked her to be my woman every single day for about 7 weeks; she said that 7 weeks is not true but its true"

The circle of life moves us all through despair, hope, faith and love. It is a sacred image that can ease our way and remind us of all we have to treasure — past, present and future.
