Just your ordinary campus love story.

In the midst of the hustle and bustle at the University of the Western Cape, just outside the Life Science building on Senate Avenue, their story began on a typical Friday. The campus was alive with students rushing to classes, textbooks in hand, and the subtle aroma of coffee in the air. It was also Jum'ah, adding an extra layer of blessings and significance to the day.

Shahzaada often jokes that what initially caught his eye was her red scarf and straight-faced expression in the midst of the crowd, forming his first impression of a 'stervy' Muslim girl. Little did he know how wrong he was or how this seemingly ordinary moment would become the cornerstone of a story that would shape their lives.

They started as friends, navigating the maze of university life. What began as shared interests and casual banter between lectures evolved into a deep connection. They became each other's pillars of support, weathering the storm of exams and celebrating triumphs, both big and small.

The campus buildings, a silent witness to their unfolding journey, emerged as a symbolic landmark in their story. Theirs wasn't a fairytale romance but rather a narrative woven with genuine moments, laughter, and the occasional awkwardness that accompanies the realization of finding something extraordinary in the most ordinary of places—a university campus.

For Muslims, getting married isn't just about creating a legal bond; it's also completing half of your religion. This is an important step on their journeys. May Allah continue to bless them on their wedding day and the future ahead. Insha'Allah. Ameen.
