Brandon and Shakia both were working at The Home Depot in different departments and did not know of each other. One day Brandon's mom, who also worked at Home Depot in the same department as Shakia, showed Shakia a picture of Brandon. Shakia then gave Brandon's mom her number to give to Brandon and said, tell him to call me.

On October 11th,2021 Brandon text Shakia for the very first time. It was just very casual conversations at first. Then Brandon's mom invited Shakia to her home for dinner on October 13th,2021. Shakia told Brandon that she was going to his mom’s house because she was cooking and he then stated, how is she going to tell you that but not her son, thats messed up, now I gotta pull up. Shakia told him it was ladies night and that he was not invited but Brandon insisted on coming to his moms home. Upon Shakia's arrival Brandon was in her face the entire time and did not want to leave her alone. On October 14th,2021 Shakia invited Brandon to hang out with her all alone for the very first time!

On October 15th Brandon was going on a little road trip to pick up his nephew and asked Shakia to join him and she went. After the road trip the two always talked on the phone, always texted each other and hung out. Shakia and Brandon were pretty much inseparable at that point. Over the year of 2022 the couple took many trips, tried many new things and moved in together. On December 25th, 2022, at 3:00 am Brandon asked Shakia for her hand in marriage. Of Course, she said YESSSS!
