Shamika and Darron first met on April 22, 2024. Funny enough, she hired him as a vendor through word of mouth for an event that was kicking off a conference. When her job said they wouldn't cover Darron's fees, Shamika used money from her own business to pay. To let Darron tell it, he had his eye on her before that when he first saw her leaving The All White Party in Charleston about a month before when he asked his friend, "Who is that?!" At the event she hired him for, Darron kept it cool. But, Darron surely slid into Shamika's DMs on Facebook. When he did, Shamika told him that he should politely slide himself back out since his relationship status read "Married". In fact, Shamika demanded his Divorce Decree before she would go out on a date with him! Darron was up to the challenge, though. He had been divorced for almost two years. When Shamika and Darron went out on their first date, Shamika arrived before him. He called to apologize and Shamika told him it wasn't a big deal and asked what appetizer he wanted and what to drink. Shamika had the food waiting for him when he arrived. Darron admitted that he was happily surprised by Shamika's hospitality. When he walked in and his friend asked him, "Is this you?" referring to Shamika, he said he thought to himself, "Not yet, but she will be." The dinner went well and the two of them walked through downtown Charleston late into the night. If you ask Darron it was about five miles talking and laughing, if you ask Shamika it was more like two miles. When you are a certain age (and maturity), the games stop for those who really want to be in a relationship. Obviously, Darron was the marrying kind as this will be his third marriage and, for Shamika, it will be her second. They have no qualms about that. They made it official less than a month in, days after sharing Mother's Day Brunch with both of their mothers.That was May 17, 2024. There have been no big blow-ups between them, their style of communication is not an exercise in one-upping each other. They have tackled the toughest of conversations and taken them as opportunities to grow. Darron will always say he is "lucky" that Shamika puts up with him but Shamika recognizes that it takes a special man to deal with all she has to give as well. They were engaged by May 25, 2025 and will wed on their second anniversary.

Important Information

Dinner will be served to all guests at 1ST RECEPTION. Food will be buffet style so we recommend that you do arrive on time so that you can ensure you have the best dining experience. Guests will also receive keepsakes and can leave gifts at the wedding if they cannot attend either of the receptions.

There will be a KEEPSAKE BINDER and a polaroid style camera for guests to leave their picture, well wishes and contact information! Please use this book as the bride and groom would very much love for you to capture this moment in your own way!
