Our Wedding

Shamis went to Penn undergrad with Nyssa, Tom's sister. She introduced them many moons later. (That is enough information to post on the inter-web. If you do not know the rest of the story, ask during the wedding weekend.)

How We Met

Tom's parents got married on 4/11. Shamis and Tom got engaged on 4/11. Tom likes symbolism so the ceremony will start precisely at 4:11PM. Don't be late!

Hospitality Suite

Need a place to hang out?

We will host a hospitality suite. You can stop through, say "hi" to folks. Step in from the rain. Grab a drink. People will flow in and out.Location: Diamond Mills Efficiency Suite DiamondThis is attached to Krause's Chocolates. 1st Floor. So, it is essentially at the end of the Diamond Mills parking lot. If you cant find it, ask the front desk staff in the Diamond Mills hotel.Opens at 3PM on Friday.

Wedding Day Transportation

Let's Have Fun Responsibly

We will be providing free transportation on Saturday to and from the wedding site.We will make 2 pickup runs from each host hotel. In order to get everyone to the wedding on-time, we need a bit of cooperation. It is still a holiday weekend and there will be some traffic.We ask for folks who check in on Friday to please take the 1st shuttle pickup. This will allow the folks who don't check in until Saturday to have the opportunity to take a shuttle. If this doesn't happen, we may run out of seats.Folks need to be ready to go and in the hotel lobby 10 minutes before pickup time so that the shuttles can leave on-time. Shuttle Bug Cab Service

We entered into a contract with Shuttle Bug to provide cab service. If you need a ride while you are in Kingston or Saugerties for train/bus pickup or general transport, please call 845-707-0418. Use of these cab services throughout the weekend are at your own expense.Note: We are providing shuttle service to and from the wedding on Saturday. Additional information can be found on the "Wedding Day Transportation" page. If you are taking the train to Rhinecliff, the pickup rate is $35.00 for 2 people. $10.00 for each additional passenger. Please call ahead so that the cab is waiting.Use other traditional, local cab companies at your own risk. Online ratings are extremely low.

Uber and Lyft - New to Ulster County

Uber and Lyft just got approval on June 29th to operate in Upstate New York. Ulster County (Kingston and Saugerties) may have service but 1) we are not sure if they are staffed and 2) the drivers are not required to be fingerprinted.

Weather & Attire

Indoors? Outdoors?

The ceremony will take place outdoors on a balcony overlooking the Esopus River. If there is excessive heat or calls for rain, the area will be tented.The cocktail and main receptions will take place indoors in the conference center ballroom.

Attire

Welcome Reception - Casual. Come as you are.Wedding - The official wedding attire is cocktail. But at the end of the day, you have to "do you". If you want to be more formal, then go for it! How often do you get to dress up and have a night out?There will be no walking on grass or gravel, so heels are a "go" if that is your thing.Thank You Brunch - Casual. Come as you are.

Saugerties is a beautiful place, although not the easiest place to get to. This is essentially a destination wedding and we are grateful that you are making the trip. Driving up here (either directly from your home or post-flight) is the easiest thing to do. If you want to carpool with folks who live near you, please get in touch with us and we will help connect you.If you plan to drive, we trust that you will Google or Waze it to get the most up to date driving directions. Please use 25 S. Partition Street, Saugerties, NY 12477 as the reception site address.Saugerties is approximately a 2 hours north of New York, NY.This is a "holiday" weekend; therefore, you should assume your trip will take longer regardless of whether you travel on Friday or Saturday.Note: Uber and Lyft ride sharing services do not operate in the local market.

We will not be providing transportation to these two events. We suggest that you carpool or take a cab. We are happy to connect you with others for the former and we provided cab contact information in the section titled as such for the latter.SAFETY FIRST!

Wedding Day Transportation to/Parking at Diamond Mills

We will provide transportation from the two host hotels, i.e., the Courtyard Kingston and the Quality Inn Kingston. We may consider other stops along the way if it makes sense. Please contact us if you have a big group staying somewhere else and want to lobby us to add a stop.The pickup schedule will be posted here in advance and will also be available at the host hotels.We have also provided cab service contact information in the section titled as such.SAFETY FIRST!Note: There is ample parking on-site at Diamond Mills.
