A Love Destined by Time
Some love stories begin with a spark, while others take time to unfold—ours was the latter, patiently waiting for the right season.
We first crossed paths as schoolmates at Assumption Iloilo. Back then, we were merely two names in a yearbook, unaware that destiny had already begun writing our story. We never spoke, never acknowledged each other’s presence, as if we lived in separate worlds. Life carried us forward, leading us through different journeys, yet somehow, we remained connected in the smallest way—through a simple Facebook friend request.
For years, our connection remained silent. A random like here, a passing reaction there. Until one day, during the pandemic, fate intervened. A single comment on a selfie sparked a conversation—one that never ended. From that moment, messages turned into late-night talks, laughter became a daily rhythm, and our bond grew deeper with each passing day.
Despite the distance, love found a way. He was in Germany, and I was in the Philippines, but our hearts remained close. Through patience, understanding, and unwavering commitment, we nurtured our relationship across time zones and thousands of miles.
I knew he was "the one" not just because he loved me, but because he embraced my family as his own. Our principles aligned, and our hearts felt at home with each other. After years of waiting, our moment finally arrived. After 20 years since our first encounter, he returned to the Philippines for a vacation, and at Garin Farm, surrounded by the people we love, he asked me to be his forever.
We both came from long-term relationships, carrying lessons from the past, and met at a time when we were finally ready to love again. Ours is not the typical love story, but one that proves that the right person, at the right time, will always find their way to you.
No distance is too great, no time too long, when two hearts are meant to be.
