Q + A

We hope we're able to provide all the information you might need below but if you have any additional questions don't hesitate to reach out. We will update this page periodically as needed.

RSVP

What date should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP using our website RSVP tab by Monday, June 1, 2026.

Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?

We are not allowing additional plus-ones to our wedding, as we'd like to keep the guests list just to those who know us well. Your invitation will indicate the guests who are invited.

Am I allowed to bring my children?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate children under the age of 19 at our wedding.

Venue Information

Where is the venue for the ceremony and reception?

Our ceremony and reception will take place at The Permanent Library located at 330 W Pender St, Vancouver, British Columbia. Please enter through the front door off of Pender St. The main floor of the venue is wheelchair accessible. Ramp access is via the side-door via the alley between Homer St. and Hamilton St.

Is there parking available near your wedding venue?

There is no parking onsite. There is ample street parking on Homer, Hamilton, and Dunsmuir streets. Alternatively, we recommend parking in the following lot at Easy Park - Lot 2 (150 West Pender St) 24/7 access.

Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Both our ceremony and reception will be indoors.

What's the best way to get to and from the venue?

Our venue is located in downtown Vancouver and is accessible by car (taxi and ride share, see below for more info on parking) and public transit (7 minute walk to Waterfront Station).

Is smoking allowed at the venue?

The Permanent is a non-smoking venue. This includes vapor and e-cigarettes. There is a designated smoking area in front of the building.

Photography

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

We kindly ask that you keep our wedding "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos during our ceremony. We encourage you to also have an unplugged evening and allow our photographers to capture the event. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special day.

Travel and Accomodations

What's the best airport to use?

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is the nearest airport. The city of Vancouver is easily accessible from YVR via taxi, public transit (SkyTrain) or ride share.

Where should I stay if I'm travelling to Vancouver from out of town?

The closest hotel to the venue is Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites which is located 300 m or approximately 4 minutes walking to our venue. There are other short-term rental options such as Airbnb and numerous other hotels in the area. Please be aware that there are a number of hostels and and cheaper single room occupancy "hotels" in the area but we would recommend against choosing these options despite the appealing price. We want our guests to have a safe and comfortable stay in Vancouver. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Shane or Victoria and we can help guide you in your selection.

Attire

What's the dress code for your wedding?

We ask that you wear cocktail or formal attire.

Food and Drink

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

We plan on having options for those vegan, vegetarian and nut free to accommodate guests with dietary restrictions. Please let us know your dietary restrictions in advance using the designated section of your digital RSVP. If you have additional restrictions that go beyond what we've listed here, let us know. We want you to feel comfortable and well fed!

Will there be an open bar?

There will be an open bar for guests to enjoy following the ceremony.

Registry and Gifts

Do you have a wedding registry?

We have chosen not to create a registry—your presence is the greatest gift, and no gifts are required! For those still wishing to give, we would be very grateful for a contribution towards our new chapter as newly weds.
