Our journey began in September 2008 at Congress Middle School, room 228, where fate introduced me to Shanee'. From the instant our paths crossed, I sensed a profound connection, knowing that she would hold my heart. Those initial weeks as coworkers were invigorating, each time Shanee entered my classroom. Uncertainty lingered about asking her out, but our bond quickly transitioned from friendship to a passionate relationship, rooted in shared beliefs and a deep comprehension of life's intricacies. Despite our recent acquaintance, Shanee' and I found resonance on numerous levels, engaging in discussions about contemporary issues and tackling life's obstacles together. Finally, on Friday, October 4, 2008, I mustered the courage to ask Shanee' out. Our first date unfolded with dinner and an extended conversation on Singer Island Beach, deepening our connection. I admired her immensely for her achievements, ascending from a secretary to a schoolteacher and earning her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Fate seemed to align as I pursued my own Ed Leadership journey, with Shanee' providing unwavering support during that period. The early years of our relationship overflowed with adventures, including witnessing the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama, collaborating as team leaders in both middle and high school, and indulging in romantic getaways during summer breaks. Among these cherished moments, spending quality time with family and friends during special occasions shines brightest. While our journey of love encountered its share of peaks and valleys, I remained steadfast in my conviction that Shanee' was the one with whom I wished to spend a lifetime, creating lasting memories. The wisdom of Proverbs 18:22 resonated deeply with me: “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.” Our love and devotion culminated in a momentous proposal on December 25, 2022, marking the beginning of our journey as one.
