Ryan and Shani first met at their best friends wedding rehearsal. As they were encouraged to talk to each other by the bride and groom they began to realize they had more in common than they thought they would. A week after the wedding they had their first date at Cumberland Falls in Corbin, Ky. It was then they realized they loved spending time together.

Ryan and Shani enjoy spending time with their two Golden Retrievers Cooper and River. The two love to go on hiking trips, travel to new places, and play at any putt putt course they can find.

Ryan proposed to Shani when she was in her last year of Optometry school on a rotation in Louisville, Ky. On January 6, 2024 she was told they were going to take photos for her brother and his girlfriend at the Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest, but little did she know she would need photos herself when Ryan got down on one knee later that day in the most beautiful spot by the lake and asked her to marry him. Of course she said yes.
