Long story short we met in 2015, via a dating app (the most ratchet one that you can think of, no not tinder the other one). When I (Shanice) accidentally swiped right instead of left, the app sent Anthony an automatic message that said “Hey let’s chat 😜” if you know me then you know that I will NEVER message anyone like that especially not with a winking emoji. But anyway, after the message sent, I quickly sent a follow up message that said “Hey I didn’t try to send that, I don’t want to chat just ignore it please”. Here is how the rest of the story went:

Anthony: “Oh, no worries. How are you?”

Me: Thinking to myself, I just told this dude that I don’t want to chat. But proceeded to say “Oh, I’m okay”

Anthony: “What are you doing up this late?”

Me: Annoyed… “Nothing much, what about you?”

Okay, I can continue to tell y’all how the conversation went and it went on forever! He caught my interest because he can hold a conversation and then we just started talking about the most random things! We continued to chat for the next few weeks and on week 4 we finally decided to exchange numbers.

After week 4 we just kept chatting and getting to know each other. We still hadn’t made plans to actually see each other in person, because we was merely just getting to know each other until…..

One night we both went out to Westport in Kansas City, without telling each other. We both was in the club Firefly, when we literally bumped into each other. When I saw him I said to myself “okaaay, you loook waaay better than your pictures”. Anyway, after we bumped into each other we took shots of fireball (Anthony’s choice) and now here we are 8 years later, getting ready to tie the knot.

We’ve watched each other grow, fail, and overall become better people throughout the years. Now we’ve added a plus one to our story, our baby boy Ashton who have changed our lives completely and who have made our bond even stronger.
