We both grew up in Nova Scotia, but it wasn’t until 2011 that our paths crossed through mutual kayaking friends. What started with movie dates, cheering each other on at the club, and big family dinners soon became a life woven together in small and big ways.

Over the past decade, we’ve shared so many firsts — our first trip, first university degrees, graduation, first apartment, our dog Chester, and buying our first home in Moncton.

Michael brings the steady calm, Shannon brings the energy, and together we make a good team. Whether it’s big adventures or slow days at home, we’ve built a life grounded in love, laughter, and always showing up for each other.

On December 26, 2023 — just one day before our twelve-year anniversary — Michael proposed during a quiet walk with Chester at a cliff overlooking the beach in Lawrencetown, a place full of memories for us. Even though we’d talked about the future, he still managed to surprise Shannon. She said yes, through many happy tears.

Now, we’re counting down the days until we get to celebrate by the ocean this fall, surrounded by our favourite people, great food, and a whole lot of love.
